I really like the way the last bit of light for the day hit the top of this broken tree & the red earth. / F5 / 1/70 / ISO100 / Fuji S9500
-
A late afternoon shot overlooking a dam. / F10 / 1/160 / ISO200 / Nikon D200 What wonders He creates for us.

Another of the boat on Lake Macquarie. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. / Ecc. 1:9

is in the eye of the beholder. / A humble weed, but no less beautiful than any other flower. / I think I must be on a B&W bender at the moment.
-
“because the fare is free and the ride eternal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” / Just quoting Martin Steinbrugger there. We had a steam train, two actually, in town this weekend. / I wanted to get an action shot of it heading down the tracks.

Thought this rose deserved something special.

This young alpaca was very curious about us (the camera club group), or looking for food. Whilst curious it still remained a little aloof & started to make noises if we came too close. Knowing they spit I thought that a bit of distance & a bit of zoom might be the better way to go.

In order to facilitate our communication and interaction within the huge Redbubble site, we have begun a Group specifically for Former DPF Members!! I’ve just been advised it is now LIVE and we can join and upload to this Group. This has been started so we don’t have to have 50 extra people on our Watchlist with masses of uploads into our Activity Monitor every day – it means that we can go join the FORMER DPF MEMBERS group, tick that box when we upload a photo, and go browse the Group the same as though it were DPF – as a separate entity. We can also post threads in our own Forum (please play nice – if you have something to discuss with an individual member, please Bubblemail them, not use the Forum!!). Gail and I will be Hosts for now and I’ve requested Gail’s pawpaw pic be used as an Avatar to begin with as it is a lovely striking photo which I think most of us recognise. Any concerns please bubble me … this has happened quicker than I thought so it has caught me on the ‘back foot’ but will post some information in the Group Forum this evening. Cheers!! / Rosalie

At least I think this is Weeping Rock. Someone tell me if it’s not & I’ll change the name. / Taken in the Blue Mountains on a recent RB outing. I was wrong. This is Queen’s Cascades F22 / 1/2 sec / ISO100

I loved the glow of the late afternoon sun on this old abandoned house. Single pic HDR (1 RAW image duplicated 7 times, 1/3 EV between each of them). Tonemapped. Using Photomatix so I could get the best detail in this photo. Still learning with the fine tuning.

I was still in town this afternoon around 5pm. We had just had rain & then the sun tried to shine through. The clouds must have thinned a little or something because the whole sky was this yellow/orange & the light it produced was not the norm (for that time of day) either. I was wishing I was at home to give you the countryside view of this. But no. It was an awesome sight. Manual / F5 / 1/160 shutter / ISO 100

This one was taken earlier this year on an outing with Rosalie. I should have bm’d her to ask the name of the place. I think it was the Hawkesbury River. No doubt she will let me know. / I converted the colour image to B&W just to see how it looked & I liked it better.

Taken on the way home from Port Macquarie.

Well actually it was day. Dark & stormy though. Whilst processing I thought I’d try one of the filters in Optikverve Labs. I quite liked the end result. / Too much?? Let me know.
-
I liked the peacefulness of this scene & the reflections. / Single HDR / F5 / 1/160 / ISO100 / EV-1
-
Well. You’ve set the precedence Rosalie. / Taken at Seven Mile Beach, Gerroa NSW. / This seat is perched on this deck overlooking the ocean. By the looks of it, someone had a quiet time there the previous night. / Single pic HDR (1 RAW image duplicated 5 times, 1/2 EV between each of them. Tonemapped. Using Photomatix) so I could get the best detail in this photo. Still learning with the fine tuning.

This is from the river looking up at the underneath side of Hampden Bridge. / Single pic HDR (1 RAW image duplicated 5 times, 1/2 EV between each of them. Tonemapped. Using Photomatix) so I could get the best detail in this photo. Still learning with the fine tuning.

It’s amazing what one can find driving around the back roads of outer Sydney. Single HDR. Finished in PSE4. Filter applied

I was practising with B&W conversions so I thought I do so on one of my favourites.

On the photo of The Big Mushroom, I said I stopped to take photos of the sunset & turned around to be greeted by that big cloud formation. / This is one of the photos of the sunset. I have three in all that I might post. Though taken only minutes apart, they are all so very different. One could be forgiven for thinking they were on different days. This is the third & final one.

Taken this morning at Gerringong, Sth Coast NSW
