The last remains of the old Port Willunga jetty, South Australia. Port Willunga Beach was recently named as the only Australian location in ‘Travel and Leisure’ magazine – hip travel list of emerging destinations. This is still one of my favourite locations to photograph and is only a 40 minute drive south of Adelaide. Pentax *ist DS – DSLR. Also available:

UNTOUCHED…JUST A YELLOW FILTER ADDED. / This was takeen at Lake L’Achigan,St-Hippolyte,Quebec,Canada / I was comming back from breakfast in the village where I live when I saw this scene ,I stoped ,couldn’t beleive that I wasn’t able to see on the other side of the lake.Heavy fog and soft light gave me the opportunity to do this image,I just love it ,makes me think of an old painting. If you look carefully ,you will see the other side’s shadow. The reflection was great because there were no fog in front of me just on the other side.A very foggy sunrise it was. When I did this shot it thought about «Water world» and how our the planet is beautiful even with a little piece of land. / / / /

Just trying new things sometimes gives something realy surprising…..experimenting is so much fun, you’ll never know what you’re gone get…. :)) / The making of that image is so simple, with Picasa I put the two pics together, one of a macro shot of bark without cropping and a portrait of my boyfriend listenning to his friends sitting at the patio table.I darked arround a little and that’s it.I didn’t have to do ajustment for the eye and the ear,it’s like the two pics were meant to fit together… :))) / I sold a matted print on the 29 th of november 08 to an unknown bubbler and that image was edited in the book “Gaïa the living planet” Same processing as Torn / When I did that image I thought about how menkind should be more united with the earth ,to feel renewed by the the contact of nature to become a better individuaL,TO BECOME A FREE THINKER.As long as we are trying to control the earth nothing good will come out of it,I often thought that we should be more like trees who are the lungs of our beautiful planet. / My friend C.C Arshagra wrote a wonderful poem inspired by this image,C.C realy understood what I felt when I named that piece. / That poem is called The Free Thinker would.. /

This is a collaborative transatlantic entry between myself and the incredibly talented and totally awesome billyboy in Belgium for RedBubbles Gaia – The Living Planet competition. Now, I’m not a religious person, but I wanted to illustrate by using billyboys Noah’s Ark image that if we dont start taking care of this planet we are living on I truly / believe we will be in for a disaster of biblical proportions. All that is beautiful and wondrous will simply disappear… like so many ephemeral bubbles. We are all interconnected, and we must find our harmony with Gaia, or risk losing it all. Many thanks to billyboy for sharing my vision, and giving so generously of his time, blood, tears and love to bring this vision into glorious life. “Gaia – The Living Planet” is coming to life. All twelve people who have been involved in shortlisting and judging for the publication have been deeply moved by the works submitted. If our wonderful earth has hope, it is in the hope, vision and courage displayed by all the artists who have contributed. The overall category winners are below. We think you will agree that these works capture something exceptional. In a few weeks we will have finished the design of the book. This is not a quick process as we aim to honor the work and the importance of the Gaia itself through the quality of design of the final publication. When this is complete and the book is for sale we will announce all those who are to be published. / Read more about “Gaia – The Living Planet here and more about out 9 judges here Overall Visual Art Winner Dryad by Helena Nelson-Reed / One of the judges simply commented: “stunning art”. Helena’s interest in mysticism is melded in this image with a living vitality. This image has an otherworldly quality while shedding a light on our world in the here-and-now. / Category Winners: Photography There were two winners in the category of Photography which scored the same marks from the judges. They show us Gaia from two different, but complementary angles. In Utero by Kitsmumma / The connection between our human vulnerability and the apparent solidity of the earth that nourishes us is beautifully portrayed in this fine artwork. The Covenant by Phil Thomson / The threat of loss and the promise of new life are framed in this single, beautiful image. / Category Winner: Traditional Evadne by Nadia Turner / This image has a delicacy of touch and depth of symbolism which took our collective breath away. Category Winner: Digital Image GAIA by Charles Winslow / The use of digital art at its finest to create an image impossible by any other medium – an earth mother completely apart of her world. Overall Writing Winners / Two written works got exactly the same marks from the judges. We certainly are not going to try and separate them. They both leave echos long after they are read. Holiday by abletsandtoast is in the words of one of our judges “An amazing piece, illuminating the relationship between people and place”. Boilingdown Creek by PinkElephant is as dry as “Holiday” was cold. The diversity of Gaia fully on display. Category Winner: Poetry A Gift of Flowers by Louise Kuskovski will leave you with a strange sense of sorrow as it hints at a greater meaning. Category Winners: Short Story Again we had two winners in the short story category and rather than splitting hairs we are splitting prizes. Benwerrin Road by Rainmemory will probably catch you by delicious surprise. Storm Joy by Panda65 has a depth of humanity that warms your fingers as you read.

Goddess of the Earth I was inspired to do this for an online photoshop contest. This piece won. The model is called ‘Iza’ , and has a great stock library on DeviantArt. I have a great fondness for Photoshop and the freedom it gives me. The practice of applying textures to human skin can have some remarkable results. This is supposed to represent Gaia in her natural form, born of Chaos.
