Gallery26 is a group of artists formed primarily of Redbubble artists and is the creative collective of Steve McLaren aka bodymechanic / The show was hung on the 14th of May, 2008 and its doors opened on the 16th of May. Just take a look at how brilliant it looks!! If you would like to join us for drinks to celebrate this fantastic exhibition and meet the artist’s responsible for the work you can do so on the 24th of May at Braemar Gallery, 104 Macquarie Road, SPRINGWOOD at 1.30pm.

hey everyone / i just travelled 65 kms home just to have a proper shower, and i tell ya it was / %#$ awesum and i shampooed my hair and shaved, u see why im a telling u / this is because at camp gallery 26 i haven’t got a shower just a hose and local pool / or the harbour, 70 is taken up with the hose, so i decided 2nite at 11.45 pm, i’m / not using the hose 2nite im gunna live it up, and well didnt i!!! well good nite im now going back 2 g26 to go to bed(on the floor,which i dont mind), clean shaved and / smellin fine (i hope) / oh yes G26 peoples i ve secured a huge space a northbridge and another smaller / one at milsons pt, plus the 7 day spas with a poss 4 more, start producin i reckon / just in case. im xcited, oh yep 2morro talks wit AT&T re hotel chain mini shows, / im still in brain lock with myself about which way im gunna structure it, but ive got / 3 options which i worry about if and wen i secure it, so there’s an G26 update 4 u’s. / now to drive back! nitey nite!

marco britti suggested we have a g26 blast supper 2morro nite (tues 4th mar) / at gallery 26 @7pm, we grab take away an sum alcohol and have a huge picnic on the floor, who ever turns up turns up, just sum fun. / also all of the art work must leave on sun 9th mar so i can start the prep work for sun 15th and 16th with a barbie both dayz, winding up is hard to do and im gunna miss the view!!

just to let u all know that the show is up and running a braemar gallery springwood / it would be worthwhile to take a drive up the blue mtns this weekend and have a look / if not come up nxt sat 24th may for the official opening and catch up with a lot of / red bubblers and take in the atmosphere that the lovely historic braemar gallery / and the blue mtns has!

ANOTHER FANTASTIC EXHIBITION NOT TO BE MISSED. / Once again Steve the Bodymechanic has organized an exhibition to feature Gallery26 artist’s. “As you all know who follow me , I do lots of stuff that promotes art in whatever ways I humanly can!! As of all the artists I know , I know because of their passion and belief in their art. Many of you that have been associated with gallery 26 are familar with John the korean (ik lae jeong) and his large in depth works which are filled with eyes! The eyes of his spiritual beliefs and journeys which he wants to share. I think John has a redbubble site but his command of english is not the greatest but his passion is!!” “Anyway at 6.30 pm on Thurs 7th aug I would like to invite you all to support this great artist for closing drinks in the foyer of the Mcgrath Foundation at 115 Sailors Bay Rd Northbridge (nth syd way!) Please note that a percentage of sales and commissions if any works are sold will be donated to the Mcgrath Foundation for research into Breast cancer it is worthwhile to turn up because who knows who could come to support this wonderful cause and artist! “So please join me and just really enjoy art and be part of a good cause! / Let me know if u can make it as i will be able to cater better for the event! / You all know I like a bit of a semi spectacular!!” / - steve

I’m sure I can speak on behalf of my colleague contributors to the G26 Braemar Exhibition when I thank Steve for the considerable amount of work he put into the G26 exhibition at Springwood. As I live locally, I went there a few times over the show and Steve was there pottering about on at least 3 occaisons when I turned up. Having seen many exhibitions at Braemar, I think (bias aside) that the G26 show was a particularly varied and vibrant event with a very high standard of work. It was excellent to get the opportunity to be involved and I would thank Steve for his work in organising, curating and physically putting together / closing the show.
