I was out mowing the yard yesterday, six hours and one heck of a sunburn later, I decided to hand the mowing over to my daughter to finish up between the shed and the fence. She started screaming and shut down the mower, she said, “mom, I think I just ran over some baby bunnies.” I rushed over and sure enough, there was a nest of 7 newborn baby bunnies. I pulled them out and luckily they were all ok. I didn’t think the mother would take them back because of our scent, so I took them in and did some research on them. The mother will not care about human scent, I returned them to the nest and covered them up and placed a string over the top of the nest to make sure she returned and took care of them, as of first thing this morning, she has not returned~we might be raising some bunnies!!

Tortoiseshell describes a coat coloring found almost exclusively in female cats. Cats of this color are mottled, with patches of red and black, chocolate, or cinnamon. They are sometimes called torties for short. The term “tortoiseshell” (also called calimanco or clouded tiger in North America) is typically reserved for cats with brindled coats that have relatively few or no white markings. Those that are largely white with red and black patches (rather than a brindled aspect) are described as tortoiseshell-and-white (in the United Kingdom) or calico (in the United States). Tortoiseshells and calicos are not specific breeds of cat. The tortoiseshell markings appear in many different breeds.This pattern is especially preferred in the Japanese Bobtail breed. A sad little creature, she hibernates for the sunny spring, fruitful summer and colourful autumn and wakes up for the grey of winter. Very old piece, she was part of a set, but she’s the only one I still find quite cute.
