Cats have a highly developed sense of smell, although not as much so as in dogs. This is further supplemented by the presence of a vomeronasal organ in the roof of the mouth, allowing the animal to “taste” the air. Cats possess highly sensitive whiskers set deep within the skin, and provide the cat with sensory information about the slightest air movement around it. For this reason they are very helpful for a nocturnal hunter. (Wikipedia.org)

This is my cat, Miss Kitty. She was so relaxed that she actually put up with me as I setup a couple of photo lamps to get a better picture of here. I mounted a macro lens on the camera and looked straight into her eyes. She is a very sweet creature and a wonderful furry friend. The photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D camera through a Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Macro prime lens at .3 sec @ f/2.5 with no flash. The camera’s ISO was set to 200.
