“Mister Hyde” was featured in the groups / The Patchwork / Outsiders and / Core [C.O.R.E] (25-10-2009) 434 views (16 November 2009) The title was inspired by the fascinating story of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde”. According to Wikipedia: “Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” is a novella written by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson and first published in 1886. It is about a London lawyer who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll, and the misanthropic Mr. Edward Hyde. Oh the funny things kids say…Part 2 / This is my daughter 5 years old. Yes cute, insightful yes / One day we went to Grandma and Grandpas it is a / Tradition that the each get a pack of gum…. / So excitedly my son gets his gum , my daughter is not as excited / Grandma asks… arnt you going to get some gum sweetie? / No…my daughter replied .. I can’t chew gum…! / Why can’t you chew gum..? / Cuz I gotta rash…!!! / OH.. sweetie how did you get a rash in your mouth..! / Its not in my mouth gramma its on my Butt! So due to the fact of the mysterious rash on my daughters butt / That was unknown to me till this time. The Butt Rash hindered / Her from chewing bubble gum… I still don’t know what one had / To do with the other…but hey I never had a mysterious Butt Rash / Of that sort so who’s to say….Kids ..gotta love em!!!

The largest male in a litter of nine: the parents being Bela and Troy (also featured in my portfolio). He was born on the anniversary of our Rottweiler’s passing (Clyde): we had planned to keep a boy from this litter and felt it appropriate to name him after ‘my boy’. / He is the largest of the litter, the most vocal and the biggest wimp. I like odd! The Rottweiler, or Rottweil Metzgerhund (“Butchers Dog”), is a “medium to large size, stalwart dog” breed originating in Germany as a herding dog. It is a hardy and very intelligent breed. Rottweilers also worked as draught dogs, pulling carts to carry meat and other products to market. “Rottweiler breeders aim at a dog of abundant strength, black coated with clearly defined rich tan markings, whose powerful appearance does not lack nobility and which is exceptionally well suited to being a companion, service and working dog.” The Rottweiler was kept busy in these traditional roles until the mid-19th century when railroads replaced droving for getting livestock to market. Although there are still Rottweilers working stock all over the world, many other roles have been found for this versatile breed. During the first and second World Wars, Rottweilers were put into service in various roles including as messenger, draught and guard dogs. Currently they are often used as search and rescue, assistance, guide dogs for the blind, guard and police dogs in addition to their traditional roles. Although an extremely versatile breed used in recent times for many other purposes, the Rottweiler is first and foremost one of the oldest, if not the oldest, of herding breeds. A multi-faceted herding and stock protection dog of exceptional ability, it is capable of working all kinds of livestock under a wide variety of conditions. The breed is an ancient one, whose history stretches back to the Roman Empire. In those times, the legions traveled with their meat on the hoof and required the assistance of working dogs to herd the cattle. One route the army traveled was through Württemberg and on to the small market town of Rottweil. The principal ancestors of the first Rottweilers during this time was supposed to be the Roman droving dog, local dogs the army met on its travels, and dogs with molosser appearance coming from England and The Netherlands. This region eventually became an important cattle area, and the descendants of the Roman cattle dogs proved their worth in both driving and protecting the cattle from robbers and wild animals. However, by the end of the 19th century as railroads became the main method for moving stock to market, the breed had declined so much that in 1900 there was only one female to be found in the town of Rottweil. Bela. In Turkish the name means mischievious or trouble maker. She’s neither. Rescued from the back of a van, she had been weened early and had been ‘caged’ in a van as the owner travelled the local area selling pet supplies. A very special dog as she timed her arrival with our tenth wedding anniversary and truly settling ın Turkey. I had had Rottweiler rescue dogs in the UK and had fallen in love with the breed – Roxy and Clyde are dear departed friends. She mated with Troy in January 2009 and produced a wonderful litter of pups: they were born on the anniversary of Clyde’s passing a year ealier.
