Gouache on paper.
I found two funeral directors shops on the side of the street beside the entrance to Ghencia Cemetery in Bucuresti. I would have thought that by the time one reached that point (i.e. the cemetery entrance) one would already be coffined!!
Thank you for looking

I took this at the full military funeral of my cousin Charlie. Charlie was a good friend, a good cousin, a good Marine, and an honest to goodness hero. He was a combat veteran of WWII, Korea, and two tours of Viet Nam. He was buried at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery in Fort Leavenworth Kansas. He is missed.
While visiting the old Bethel Cemetery, I could almost picture the parents, friends, and the preacher standing around this little grave while giving comforting words to all in attendance. You can see the tears rolling down the mother’s face as the little baby she held under her heart for nine months must now be committed to the earth. I can actually relate as I too have lost a baby son. Photo taken 7/11/08 (Maypearl, TX).

A woman near Guilin, China, gives a V for Victory sign while perched on the edge of her own coffin. In this area it is traditional for the son of the family to purchase or make coffins for his parents, even when they are still alive.
Quaint little cemetery chapel in Stockland, IL. It is the chapel the “Chapel” bridge (see the card on the right) is named after. It has beautiful stained glass windows and is frequently the setting for a wedding! There is no electricity and I am unsure of its age other than really old! / /
There is nothing more mystic than a darkest red rose. This has been beautifully captured with just that in mind.
