Looking through the bus window on the way home, I see this playful movement of light and dark shades, between leaves and branches. It is a moment to be captured. Real image with no additional painting… The light painted it on my camera’s ccd sensor! I have set the camera on manual zoom, manual speed and aperture, so that the motion can be capture on shutter release. Behind the glass window of a moving bus, I hunt for the right angle of sun and the right tree, and follow throught the target like taking an image of a sport player. All about timing and a bit of luck! Love to see critiques and comments. All welcome. well just like it says in the title this is a closer view of this old and forgotten mural on Erskinville Road Newtown…from the vaults of time and annals of history comes this image…. it now longer exists having be redecorated out of existence by the new owners of the building. Still it was up for a few years which is pretty good for street art. / . / That’s my Dad my sister and my three lads checking it out… back in the day hey…..:) / . /

Melbourne is vastly awesomer at rugby and probably even has spunkier players. (not that I’ve ever watched a game) But since you are so convinced, we challenge you to a friendly group wager The group who’s team wins the rugby, can kidnap a group host from the losing side for 2 weeks and make them do all sorts of hosting chores. You could make them run challenges about how great your city is, or make them organise a meet up from another state, or make them responsible for doing 100% of the featuring, or make them blog in the forums every. single. day. Yes, you will have a slave host to serve your group while you sip martinis and read Australian Womens’ Weekly. and… To make this a serious wager – the winning group can also send one of their hosts to invade the losing side and make sure the loss is sorely felt! So, feeling confident still? Do we have a deal? it’s entirely possible that almost every detail in this post is made up, and that we talked about this yesterday, but the wager still stands!

Meg had fun posing, and Nanna had fun with the processing! Created with two photos and a few layers. Extracted the background from the legs, desaturated the colours, overlaid a photo of a texture and blended the background image through. Beside the Seaside is for the Create an exhibition poster for “Make up Your Mind” exhibition WITH MAKEUP AND OTHER STUFF which is now open for entries. Voting will start for this challenge in 6 days. I created this on a substrate of brown paper, the dresses are from corrugated cardboard, and i’ve used some gingham for ribbon and pockets…. the other things i used were black boot polish for the hair, blue hair gel for the sea, plus blue nail polish for the water, along with white lipstick…. pink lipstick for the cheeks rouge and a brown tinted lip gloss to draw the legs and shade the faces…i used an eleliner pencil to do the eyes and lips, i have also used photoshop and some foundation for the shadows under their feet :) We were asked to create a poster to advertise the upcoming Make Up Your Mind Exhibition in Sydney at the Manly Arts Festival which we hope to go in…that will be in September. / / it kinda looks cute in a frame, i couldn’t help myself….don’t expect any sales from it though, just for presentation purposes of course :) Looking for inspiration, then check out these fantastic artworks on youtube created with makeup products! / Lipstick Painting Gwen Stefani / Lipstick Painting Angeline Jolie

Handheld whilst the boat was moving.
