Took this a couple of weeks ago of my little girl at the beach and realised it’s potential this morning when I started to play with the colour, light and layers so of course I though that I would share!

This was created from a photograph that I changed by using channels only. it takes a lot of time to get this effect. after I got what I felt was cool I adjusted the colors by using levels, curves, hue and saturation, and selective colors. / There are NO filters in this art and no inverts. Summer Breeze a beautiful poem by the same title by a dear friend of mine Anne Van Alkemade / Inspired by the song Summer Breeze / by Seals and Croft Also inspired by myself and my experience of having bugs and insects come to try and take up residence in my ears… scrabbling around in there, getting all comfy…while I’m going crazy…click beetles, houseflies and spiders so far have all tried this… lol This is a girl who has an affinity with nature, and as the summer breezes begin to blow here in Australia…....the animals are drawn to live in her hair thinking that it must be branches of a tree… yes, my hair’s that dry… :) I thought it a fitting one for summer, hope you like her… Pencil drawing took me about 3 hours / Digital colouring – 10 hours / Total time 13 hours

/ / Little Cleopatra is a drawing .. I’ve used a few different pencils, lead and coloured, as well as charcoal, and some coloured marker pens, along with black marker pen and black ink to colour in the large hair area. I’ve also coloured much of this digitally.
