I came across this somewhere and thought it would be kinda fun to do. So here it is. Fifty things about me that you probably never wanted to know, but I’m gonna share them with you anyway. 1. Do you like blue cheese? / To the detriment of everyone in my household – yes. Which I find disturbing since I’m the only woman here. You would think that with three grown men, all athletic, they wouldn’t be so queasy regarding certain smells. Go figure. 2. Have you ever smoked a cigarette? / I’ve tried them. Luckily, I didn’t care for the smell or taste. Too bad it hasn’t been the same with wine. Especially a White Zinfandel or Johannesburg Riesling.Yummy! And don’t even get me started on Smirnoff Ice. 3. Do you own a gun? / Handgun, no. Not anymore. But I still have my Marlin Model 70 .22 rifle. 4. What flavor do you add to your drink at Sonic? / Never been to one. 5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments? / Prior to having cancer, I didn’t. But now, I can’t help but wonder what awaits me when my name is called. Probably why I have not been in a while. 6. Do you like hot-dogs? / Casper’s – the BEST ever. 7. Favorite Christmas Song? / Gloria in Excelsis Deo 8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? / Expresso. But if I can’t make it to the coffee shop, I’ll settle for making a pot of coffee at home. But it’s not the same. Not even close. 9. Can you do push-ups? / Unfortunately not really well. I have a lymphatic right arm as a result of intense radiation therapy which makes doing exercises like this very difficult. However, I can one time a puck like no one’s business, so that is enough upper body strength as I think I will ever need. 10. What’s your favorite meal? / Sushi and sake accompanied by good conversation. 11. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry? / A pair of silver earrings depicting a Celtic design. 12. Favorite hobby? / Quilting, followed closely by photography. 13. Do you work with people who idolize you? / I work from home. Does my son count? 14. Name a trait that you hate about yourself? / Jack of all trades, master at none – that’s me. I love doing things, lots of things. However that aspect of my personality makes it difficult to concentrate on doing only one thing well. 15. Middle name? / Not sure many people know this, but J.C. Montgomery is a pseudonym. Well, part of it is. But if I must reveal a little bit of truth, my real middle name is “Francine”. 16. Name 3 thoughts at this moment: / I wish my home office were done already, I hate being in limbo. / I think I need some coffee. / The Little League World Series has been great this year and I would very much like to travel to Williamsport next year and see it in person. 17. Name 3 things you bought yesterday: / A computer desk and bookcase. (Came as a set) / New ergonomic keyboard. / New mouse. 18. Name 3 drinks you regularly drink. / Iced Lattes. / Hot Lattes. / Club soda with lemon. 19. Current worry right now? / Writing and posting three book reviews by the end of this week. I also have all those features to write about the winning authors in A Novel Idea’s last challenge. Sometimes I think there just isn’t enough time in the day for everything I want to get done – in fact I am convinced of it. 20. Current hate right now? / That I always seem to bite off more than I can chew. (See previous answer) 21. Favorite place to be? / Lake Alpine in autumn, with a fishing pole wedged between my feet, a thermos of hot coffee by my side, and a good book in my hands. 22. How did you bring in New Years? / Listening to the fireworks outside, as we watched them simulcast on TV, while sipping a good sparkling wine and eating fresh shrimp dipped in a cocktail sauce to die for. 23. Favorite place to go? / British Columbia. I haven’t been in ages, but I think of it often. My fondest memory is of taking the ferry from Seattle to Vancouver Island, and would love to do it again – soon. 24. What is your most recurring dream? / Uh. Gee, uh…well…if this were the Blue Room, I’d share in a heartbeat, but since this is my journal, I will keep it PG. I seem to dream a lot about…cuddling. Yeah, that’s it. Apparently I love to cuddle. A lot. 25. Introvert or extrovert? / Depends on how comfortable I am with my surroundings and the people in them. 26. What color shirt are you wearing? / Black. 27. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets? / No. I prefer a high thread count cotton or a jersey knit. 28. Can you whistle? / If I have to, but I’m not very good at it. 29. Favorite color(s)? / Fall colors. 30. Would you be a pirate? / No. I know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of thievery, and it is a terrible feeling. It only takes that one time, opening the door to a ransacked home, to understand the emotionality of being robbed. I would never wish it on anyone, or ever be the cause. 31. What songs do you sing in the shower? / I don’t do much singing in the shower, but if I do, it’s whatever pops into my head at the time. 32. Favorite girl’s name? / I don’t have one. I guess if I had to choose, I like one of my character names: Esmirée (Esmi for short). 33. Favorite boy’s name? / My son’s name. I would tell you what it is, but he values his privacy and since he is a member here, he would know if I divulged it. However I will give you a hint…it starts with “M”. 34. Who is your loudest friend? / I don’t really have any friends that are that loud—unless we are talking about how they dress. 35. What’s in your pocket right now? / Lint. 36. Last thing that made you laugh? / My best friend. 37. Bed sheets as a child? / I don’t remember. But I do remember liking flannel and the soft velvety feeling it always gave me when I snuggled under the covers. 38. Worst injury you’ve ever had? / Twisted ankle. And I don’t mean a little tweak either. I pretty much bent it in a direction not thought possible. But somehow I managed. According to the doctor it would have been better to have broken it – and he was right. I was on crutches for weeks, and it was months before I could walk without a limp. 39. Do you love where you live? / I wouldn’t use the word love, but I do like it here a lot. I can’t help it, I miss the ocean and the cooler weather. I do love the winters here. But the summers are much too warm for my liking. 40. How many TV’s are in your house? / Five: three that are on regularly, and two that are rarely used. Personally, I prefer listening to music. 41. What is your worst habit? / I. Hate. Doing. Dishes. (Dishwasher notwithstanding, I hate doing them…passionately) 42. How many dogs do you have? / None, and I hope this isn’t permanent. I would love to have another – soon. 43. Does someone have a crush on you? / I have no idea. 44. Do you own slippers? / Yes. Several pairs as a matter of fact. One is strictly for outdoors, you know, for when I need to take out the trash, get the mail, harrass the neighborhood mutt when he tries to pee on my rose bushes. Two for indoors: one pair for summer, another for winter. What? Why are you looking at me like that? It makes perfect sense. It does. 45. What is your favorite book? / This is a really hard question. Of all time? To Kill A Mockingbird is right up there. This last year? The Time Traveler’s Wife. / / 46. What is your favorite candy? / It is a toss-up between After Eight mints and Almond Roca. 47. What is your favorite sports team? / San Jose Sharks. 48. What song do you want played at your funeral? / Here Comes The Sun by Richie Havens. 49. What were you doing at 12 AM last night? / Basking in the afterglow of an amazing or…oh, yeah, sorry, forgot…this is supposed to be PG. I was just lolling off to sleep after exercising for a bit. I know it was late, but well, I am never one to say no when in the mood….to exercise. 50. What was the first thing you thought of when you woke up this morning? / I think by now that would be easy to guess. And you would be right. Yep, I was thinking about how soon I can get that coffee made. I mean after all, I was up late exercising. Perhaps you’d like to share about yourself? Go ahead and try it. Even if you never post it, I think you will find it interesting and perhaps may discover something about yourself you never gave much thought to previously.
