In case some of you didn’t know, I am a part of a collective/label called Filthy Panda with fellow pandas Willo and Burnsy. A trio of good mates who share a love for art+design+fashion, we make shirts. And all of our shirts are of course printed by the fine folks at Redbubble, big thanks go to Ed Redman who sorted us out in time for the event! Filthy Panda will be at Shirty07 on SATURDAY, selling their swag and swilling beers. Shirty07 is a new not-for-profit design initiative – a market selling only t-shirts. It’s an event that fuses fashion with art, music with culture; where guests can purchase unique t-shirt designs direct from independent designers, enjoy live music and chill out at the bar with a drink! At least that’s what it says on the flyer, all shirts are capped at $69 so everything is kept accessable. The flyer also says : The first Shirty will be held on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH / Midday 2 Midnight / At the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre / 1 Bedford Street Newtown (opposite the train station) www.shirty07.com Shirty07 will seriously be sick, and you’re all invited! Hope to see you there, With love, The Filthy Panda team. xo!

Well Peeps. After a bout of the old flu bug during the week, we headed for dem der hills last weekend and had a ball. Wonderful walks, a late evening Bar-B-Q and a private concert with everyone participating in some way. / Sunday was difficult to raise my head from that soft mountain pillow, but the sun wouldn’t leave me at peace. We had breakfast and a long walk, where I managed to take some neat photos – have a look at the latest four in my portfolio for some examples. The sun shone all day and relax was the key word for our last few hours away. / Well we’re already home and back to the grindstone… sigh. Oh well, more fun to come in the near future. / Nite nite peeps. Thanks for reading my thoughts. / Ciao…

I am intrigued by what music I choose to play for my daughter—probably because I grew up in a household where popular music was “of the devil,” and I hated pretty much everything my parents listened to. My daughter, on the other hand… Her lullaby CDs featured everything from the Beatles to Kermit the Frog. She got a regular diet of Enya at bed/naptime and still considers that to be either “elf music” or “ballerina music.” And it’s been fun to uncover music that she likes, that I can enjoy too. The biggest players have been Laurie Berkner and Dan Zanes, but we’ve also learned to look at “adult” music as fun for children. Not counting Laurie and Dan and the Disney music, here are some choices from the CDs I most recently made for her: - Harry Belafonte’s “Day-O” and “Jump in the Line (Shake Senora)” / - “The Hampster Dance” by Hampton the Hamster / - “Beyond the Sea” by Bobby Darin / - “Birdhouse in Your Soul” by They Might Be Giants / - The Harry Potter theme music / - “Linus and Lucy” by David Benoit / - “Songs About Texas” by Pat Green, Guy Clark and Robert Earl Keane (this is one of the songs I first understood her to be singing, when she was a baby) / - “Sweet Baby James” by James Taylor / - “True Colors” by Phil Collins / - “Video Killed the Radio Star” by the Buggles As far as “kids’ music,” I love Laurie’s “Moon Moon Moon” and “Under a Shady Tree,” also Dan’s “Let’s Shake” and “House Party Time.” And we all love, for some odd reason, “Everywhere I Go” by Moose A. Moose (one of the songs they play during breaks on Noggin). One song from Noggin that I love dearly and can’t find anywhere is “Grumpy,” by a band with a really odd name that’s left my brain at the moment (something about aardvarks?). We also love, and can’t find, Lisa Loeb’s version of “Jenny Jenkins.” Another song she loves that isn’t on her CDs is “Black Horse and Cherry Tree” by KT Tunstall. What toddler doesn’t resonate with the “No No No” part? :) I’ll never forget the day we were listening to it in the car; I look back at her and she’s got both arms in the air, waving from side to side to the beat, restriction of the five-point carseat harness be damned. Anyone else got family favorites that still probably fall into the realm of popular music?

So it’s day two here at the Diesel on Decks Dome and things are electric. The crowd is awaiting in anticipation for the next instalment of the Painted Diesel – wondering can he match this digital version of Diesel on Decks > / - and now, we cross live to Diesel, down by the action… Yes Hi Diesel, it’s Diesel here and wow, things are screaming along. The Acrylics have been warming up for a while now, while the Canvas has been deep in serious thought…not sure how things went on in earlier conversation, but if you missed the previous round of Painting Diesel On Decks, you can view it HERE - Wait, Diesel, I’m getting word that they are about to start Painting again – yes, the Acrylics are going head to head with Canvas right now – HERE WE GO! OOH… YES… WOW! OH WHAT A DAY! —-—-—-— Here we can see the HIGHLIGHTS of day two, and if I must say so myself, there was some serious focus, and steady hands put into this effort. Here is Diesel taking hold of the brush and working with the extra ‘shading’ layers on ‘Diesel’. Diesel was aiming to stick with just painting ‘Diesel’ but he boldly chose to venture out and paint the speakers early…a tactic that seemed to pay off. Working heavily with the ‘shading’: He applies it in great detail and almost perfect precision. Amazing. From recent interviews we learned that he decided not to join the colours as the Thick Black Outline would cover up that. Simply breathe-taking excuse. Ground Zero was left in quite a state for day 2. Oooh and the final outcome, not quite GOLD-worthy yet, but in time I am sure it will resonate beautifully with the judges. We asked Diesel what he thought of the painting so far… Well that about wraps up day 2’s highlights, plenty of action down here, back to you in the studio. Thanks Diesel, I am sure within the next few days he will be able to complete this journey and receive a GOLD for his work…he’s got my vote. ARTWORK IN QUESTION> / —-—-—-—-—-- If you like my work, and would like to spread the word about my art, please purchase this groovy image: – in the form of a Card, Matte print, Laminated print, Poster or anything! As I struggled to navigate through this site initially, a month or so ago, I was fortunate that several Bubblers were kind enough to share how they uploaded artwork to their profiles and art pages; links to music and videos and some other helpful tidbits which I recently shared with a few friends invited here… Hope this helps you present your amazing work easier, if you didn’t already know how… Clickable Link: / 1. Quotation mark / 2. What you want your link to say / 3. Quotation mark / 4. Colon / 5. URL code – http://www.etc…com Add Images: / 1. Upload Image, Title, Description, Tags, Groups & Items for sale – SAVE / 2. Click onto buy/preview and save to favorites the card, print and/or framed print, by right clicking image of card or print; then go back to artwork page / 3. In description box, add !exclamation point, then click to another browser tab / 4. Find image saved in favorites and click to highlight URL, Cut (ControlC), click back to browser tab with artwork / 5. Paste URL into description box and add !exclamation point / 6. You can add more than one photo of work (Tip: when saving in FAV, I add letter c (cards), L (laminated), M (mounted) & F (framed) when saving multiple images of same work. Just be sure to add !exclamation points before and after the URL. / 7. You can use this same process for adding to Profile Description Image Sizes: / For all sale items except clothing and calendars, the size of images uploaded should be 2500×3500, then in the ‘Items for sale’ section (below tags), you can check all: cards, mounted print, laminated print, canvas print, framed print and posters for sale. If someone requests Large prints, medium & large posters or laminated prints and/or calendars you can then upload a larger image. Profile Page: your URL for your profile will be www.redbubble.com/people/yourname to edit this page, you can add links to other sites and pictures like instructed above, in the describe yourself box. The daily feed question request has been helpful to me, not having to sign in daily. They’ll send you an email of your daily activity – you click onto any underlined feature, activity or comment and you are there – I save them in my email inbox, until I receive the next one. Challenges: RB just made most of the challenges really very easy as the group will send notice in your overview feed, click onto enter now and all the work you have uploaded will show up to chose from for entering; note whether they require a TAG, you may need to edit before entering. They have not yet mastered entering “writing” works, most groups do it in forums. Groups: join the ones you feel you can get the most exposure and follow their specific rules, you can click onto anyone in your watchlists’ list of groups to seek commonalities. Or, while looking at artwork posted by others, on the right side where the description is – below are underlined groups that have accepted the artwork and you can click those to learn more. Watchlist: Add people you feel share the same tastes in artwork for support – by clicking on names of commenters, bubblemailers or checking my watchlist and reading profiles, seeing artwork & groups in common. Bubblesite/Gallery: this URL is different than your Profile page it would be http://yourname.redbubble.com – you can click this tab on your page to build and manage it as you add artwork – I suggest you get used to some of the above, so you have optimum pricing and exposure for items for sale. The templates are easy and to manage, you click and drag your artwork into categories you chose. Customers can buy directly from your gallery, without being redbubble members, or you can simply share the URL with friends to see your photos. Written works are not included in the gallery, but all photos uploaded for sale will automatically be in the Manage section to be added to the categories you move them to, I manage my gallery once weekly. Text Formatting: / BOLD to make text bold =bold / Italic to make text italic =italic / Underline to underline text =underlined / Small Text make text smaller =smaller text Comments: when someone comments on your work, you can reply (click) and they will receive a feed that you responded – if they are rude (click report) or delete – when you just comment below you will be the only one who knows. For anyone in the Woorim area on Sunday afternoon, it would be well worth your while to drop into Blueys pub and check out the locals day. This week promises to be one of the best so far and they have been getting better each month. A couple of new female vocalists to appear and also apparently the drummer from The / Fabulous Thunderbirds is going to play with a couple of the really good local guitarists. The day starts around 12.30 and goes thru to about 5.30, it is in the beer garden and it is a great spot to spend a Sunday arvo, kids welcome, there is a sandpit and they just love to dance, so roll up, rock on and love life. Ciao.

GIVE ME YOUR MUSIC!!!! place your recomendations here please! :) To everybody who loves music. Wow, i think all my art is inspired by music in some way or another and i would say vice versa but i unfortuanatly don’t write music yet… / But for me music is everything, its the first thing i hear in the morning and the last thing i hear at night. it goes evrywhere with me and every part of my life i relate to music. I have theme tunes for lifes little moments and evry time that moment happens, the song plays in my head… / Songs are also reminders of people, books, emotions, places, smells, colours that i felt and saw at the time the song was playing. The feeling that then washes over me when i hear that song again is amazing and can take me back to that moment in vivid detail (even to days when i was 5 years old!) Indie, folk and slow rock is the best music for me though im not too genre specific, its the song for me, not the type. these are soem of the artists i love… / The Boy Least Likely To / Jack Johnson / We The Scientists / John Mayer / Corrine Bailey Rae / Lykke Li / Emiliana Torrini / Ingrid Michaelson / The Arctic Monkeys / Razorlight / The Kooks / Dashboard Confessional / Death Cab For Cutie / Tom Petty / Dido / Pogo / Bon Iver / Brett Dennon / Joe Purdey / Joshua Radin / Norah Jones / Sia / Jem / Ray Lamontange / Adele / Coldplay / Taken By Trees / The Dykeenies (thanks to Julia! ;) ) / Nouvelle Vague / Priscilla Ahn / Goldfrapp / Any French & Spanish Music Just to name a few… If you have a similar taste in music to me and you know any other artists you’de think id like, or even you really like (cos im open to anything) PLEASE say and share!!! Thanks!! Ok an update… haha! / Ben Harper / Architecture In Helsinki / Kate Havnevik / The Postal Service / Matthew Mayfield / Vega 4 / Florence & The Machine / Eddie Vedder / Feist / Landon Pigg / Jenn Grant / Incubus / Blue Foundation / Snow Patrol / The Beautiful Girls / Five Times August / Beirut / Moby / Live / Regina bloody Spektor!!!! she rocks my boat, her latest album is super good!!! Its called far and the lyrics are just superb!!! / Amos Lee / William Fitzsimmons / Rosi Golan / Amy MacDonald / Radiohead / Ingrid Michaelson
