2008 New Year Celebrations Sydney Australia
It was so nice on Saturday that lots of youngsters were out in their kayaks practising, it was great hearing their shouts of joy and giggling during the brief respite from all the winter wind and rain.
Every major city I’ve been in has its own prominent neon Coke sign and Buenos Aires is no exception. The coke sign in Sydney is the gateway to Kings Cross and all that goes on there and the coke sign in the city of Buenos Aires seems to be located in a fairly equivalent part of town. Shot with a tiny Russin lomo camera with Ilford HP5 b/w film on my recent visit to this amazing and vital city in Argentina.

continuing on my holga stroll around the foreshore of the beautiful harbour in the town that I currently live….. between two stunning surf beaches is a little deep water harbour and an area of rocky laval pools and such like….. and this particular natural little rocky depression is a real favorite with bathers who don’t want to venture out in the sometimes quite heavy surf….. in this image three little kids are all clutching the one body board and dog paddling up and down in the calm luke warm water and they are having a great time…... and remember ….. it’s winter here…... oh how we suffer round these parts….... :)

Our photography class went on a field trip to Sydney Harbour last week. We arrived at 9pm and left at 1 am, but what a lot of fun we had. Our wonderful teachers went with us and explained about lighting, white balance and night photography. This is my first night lights shot. For an amateur I was fairly happy with the results. What do you think? Taken with my Canon 40 DSLR on a tripod. white balance- auto, shutter speed- 2/5 sec, iso- 200, Fstop-7.1 / I have done some post editing in photoshop but not too much, Lunar park is a favourite of mine as I used to go there back in my younger days. Thanks for visiting
The picture was taken in haste and I have 7 or 8 versions on the go now. This is my fav at the moment but I will change it if I can improve which for sure is possible but may not be within my capabilities. The composition does it for me but the colour? and the tonal values?......Watch this space!
