  • St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney.

  • This was taken off the last full moon, right after the eclipse.

  • All is calm… all is white.

  • / . / I had some requests of a portrait shot of my photo entitled “Luna over Luna Park”. Luckily, I had taken the shot. I’m not great at giving photos titles, hence the title for this one. This was taken on the same night of my other photos “Luna Over Luna Park”, “Luna Harbour” and “Luna PANORAMA”. The photos were taken in quite quick succession. I attempted to combine the full moon, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You might be interested in viewing the other photos because this is in Portrait, two are in Landscape, and one PANORAMA. It’s amazing how a similar subject can be photographed in slightly different ways, and produce different results. I will interested in knowing which of the four is you favourite !

  • Stock Photo Credit: / Glass heart / Model / Dove / Background / Moon

  • crazy night of storms right over me…then a westerly wind came, i watched in amazement as the sky cleared, the moon popped out and the show began once in a blue moon

  • I’ve was sprinting back and forth across our yard the past few nights… pointing my camera towards the glorious sunsets in the West and then racing to the back pasture to capture the astonishing moon rise in the East. It has been a fun couple of evenings and I am having a hard time deciding which images to post. I liked this one in particular because the grass blade feels like it helps anchor the moon at the earths horizon. When the moon first appears it is blood red… (I haven’t processed those pictures yet!) and it is ENORMOUS!! That is one of my favorite moments though, when it seems like heaven and earth are so close. / Photographed in southeastern South Dakota

  • Under a full moon, a fox dances in a moonlit glade. Based on my blog post August 12, for my week of dogs. The original is here

  • Young woman reaching for the full moon.

  • This photo was taken at Bintan, Indonesia.

  • Southern Ocean Storm © Vicki Ferrari Looking east from Emu Park, Queensland, Australia. The Southern Cross, and the two pointers, are visible on the right hand side. The two bright lights on the ocean are ship lights. And there is lightning (bonus!) breaking through the storm clouds on the left Technical Data / Nikon D70 / 18mm focal / f3.5 / manual exposure (30 secs) / 25/3/05

  • Part of a series I started a while ago before I discovered photo shop. I created the originals (Monday ~ Sunday) using collage technique, cutting, pasting, painting but they never really came out the way I wanted them to. So Iv’e decided to try again using my computer this time. I started with Wednesday’s child because it was the easiest! / Girl’s image ‘playingwithbrushes’ free stock on Flickr / Tree brushes photo shop free brush download / Other bits and pieces by me

  • This one was a fun shoot, lots of lighting experiments… WIDE open aperture and strong back lighting under the palm leaf and I finally for the result I wanted, with a 2 shot HDR merge. Full moon of the 7th July 2009. Unfortunately the moon rise this evening was cloudy, didn’t show till late. Same with the Moonset :( Oh well, I’m sure it’s not going anywhere!! :) Canon 50D, 400mm. Available Large, and best viewed Large!

  • The rocks at Providence Point, Royal National Park, just south of Sydney. Shot under a full moon shortly before midnight at the same location as this one. Just going through the archives looking for shots I’ve missed posting. Canon 30D / Tv: 90 secs / Av: f/4.5 / ISO: 400

  • Dance to the End of Time / Dance to the End of Time #2 Another one from the archives that I didn’t get around to posting. I shot this 3 years ago in winter under a full moon at about midnight at Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains, Australia. This was my first shoot outside at night in winter. It was minus 5 degrees and when I got back home and my fingers started to thaw out I couldn’t believe the pain – Lesson 1 for winter night shots – wear mittens at the very least! / These trees were drowned along with a whole valley to create a man-made lake as part of a hydro scheme in the 1950s. They resurfaced as a result of a drought we’d been having for the last few years courtesy of global warming. Canon 30D / Tv: 30 secs / Av: f/3.5 / ISO: 800

  • Worth clicking Large to see all the stars. 30 second exposure of a moving cloudbank backlit by the moon between two pinnacles in the Gardens of Stone National Park (isn’t that the coolest name for a NP?). Taken around midnight. First new landscape pic for a while. A friend invited me to another friend’s birthday in this amazing location. I’ve never been to this area on the other side of the Blue Mountains and was just gobsmacked as we drove down this valley with these majestic mountains rising on either side. I spotted this vantage point on the way in and as the party wore on snuck away to get some shots and was presented with this vista as I rolled up in the car. Managed to get about 15 mins in before it started to sleet. Man it was freezing with the wind coming off the late snow. The party was in an old art deco hotel being lovingly restored by this young couple and their six(!) children (oldest 11!!) Can’t believe the energy some people have or their vision. This hotel is located in a near-deserted old shale mining town at the end of a valley you can only access by dirt road about 4 hours from Sydney. It was all quite surreal – particularly when some of the girls at the party heard I was a photographer and decided they wanted to do a Norman Lindsay style “bacchanalia” photoshoot at the end of the night – just hilarious but OMG working with drunk models is hard work – “sit still”, “stop giggling” – never again! Still I managed to do both my favourite styles of photography in one night so it’s churlish to complain. Canon 1Ds Mk III / Tv: 30 secs / Av: f/3.2 / ISO: 1600
