This photo was taken just south of Fraser Island in Queensland. With a 30 second exposure at f10 this gave the picture a fairly surreal feel about it.
moon captured by girl
This was taken off the last full moon, right after the eclipse.
Sometimes even mistakes can turn out right. Here I woke up really early, way too early as I misjudged the time for a sunrise. So for an hour or so I was just waiting for the light. As the moon descended this opportunity arouse. This shot is taken at a point where on one side of the beach you can see east and watch the sunrise and basically just turn around and face west and watch the moon set. At this point the resort was abandoned, hence the chair. I only moved it slightly to improve the composition. Photo Taken: 04-Jan-2007 / Time: Early, somewhere between 5 and 6am / Conditions: Calm, really beautiful / / / / / / / Some other seascape art: / / / / / / /
/ . / I had some requests of a portrait shot of my photo entitled “Luna over Luna Park”. Luckily, I had taken the shot. I’m not great at giving photos titles, hence the title for this one. This was taken on the same night of my other photos “Luna Over Luna Park”, “Luna Harbour” and “Luna PANORAMA”. The photos were taken in quite quick succession. I attempted to combine the full moon, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You might be interested in viewing the other photos because this is in Portrait, two are in Landscape, and one PANORAMA. It’s amazing how a similar subject can be photographed in slightly different ways, and produce different results. I will interested in knowing which of the four is you favourite !

Visited Austinmer Pool, near Wollongong Australia for the moonrise on Friday then the sunrise on Saturday morning. Some amazing people there who swim every morning – even though the water temperature was only 13 degrees. Series 2: / /
In modern English, the term ghost ship has come to stand for at least one of three separate definitions, all of which involving unexplained circumstances. Historically, the term has been used to refer to reported sightings of apparitions over water that have appeared in the form of maritime sailing ships, often after having previously been known to have sunk, or to derelict vessels found floating with no crew. In fiction, ghost ships have often been vessels crewed by some manner of spectral beings. Full Moons are traditionally associated with temporal insomnia, insanity and various magical phenomena such as lycanthropy. Psychologists, however, have found that there is no strong evidence for effects on human behavior around the time of a full moon. They find that studies are generally not consistent, with some showing a positive effect and others showing a negative effect (hence the terms lunacy and lunatic) Many neopagans hold a monthly ritual called an Esbat at each full moon, while some people practicing traditional Chinese religions prepare their ritual offerings to their ancestors and deities on every full and new moon

Blood Moon is the name given to moon during a lunar eclipse when the earth casts a blood-like shadow across the moon. A shot I took during the last lunar eclipse just seemed to be begging for a vampire with class and style – enter the flawless Sonia whose other pics can be seen here and here and here and here Canon 1Ds MkIII / Moon: / Tv: 1 sec / Av: f/3.5 / ISO: 200 / FL: 200mm / Sonia: / Tv: 1/125 / Av: f/22 / ISO: 100 / FL: 75mm

Finally I got some luck with the Full Moonset and no clouds.. Not a cloud in sight this morning, and the moon was beautiful setting over Mount Cooroy. I have been doing tests lately with composition of moonrises and moonsets. If you take the shot with a massive zoom, from a few 1000 metres away, the moon is beautiful and large! I have learnt to throw away the 10mm lens for these kind of shots! Moonset of Thursday, 6th August, 2009 – 6:04am. Over the Noosa River, Noosa Sound, looking over Noosaville.
