  • Perhaps this is how society’s marginalised feel. Embarassed. Anxious. Without ability to manipulate things around them. Cut off. Alone. And unable to soar. I am slowly looking to move more of my flickr collection here. But what to bring? It’s not so easy. For now, I’m thinking about moving or rescanning some of my film shots. Feel free to pop over to flickr and recommend anything. www.flickr.com/photos/ashish100 Hopefully when I get a scanner I can reupload this at a suitable res.

  • Botanical Name: Hydrangea / Common Name: Hydrangea, Hortensia / Place Of Origin: Japan The name Hydrangea comes from the Greek hydor, meaning water, and angos, meaning jar or vessel. / In most species of Hydrangea the flowers are white, but in some species, they can be blue, red, pink, or purple. The exact color often depends upon the acidity or alkalinity of the soil. Acidic soils produce blue flowers, neutral soils produce pale cream petals, and alkaline soils result in pink or purple. / In the Language of Flowers Hydrangeas represent anything that’s sincerely heartfelt. • I’ve been putting up lots of black and white images of late and thought it was time for a bit of a colour interlude….and it’s been raining here for days…. so some rainbow skies over my garden …it’s an old roll of fujifilm that was processed then scanned with a profile for ilford film if that will help explain the vividness of the colour in this and the following shots…it’s a bit like the film has been cross-processed although it hasn’t…. and this is the true colour on the negs…... ahhh film it’s so deliciously unpredictable….. below is a blue version of this image that came about when I rescanned the negs with my own scanner… such a big difference in tone from the same image with the only difference being the type of scanner that was used / . / / . /

  • another view of the white rainbow over my back garden…. this one was shot through the fly screen wire and it has given the image a really unusual texture….. / . /

  • another in these particular set of images of a very high key rainbow event one afternoon here in austinmer…. the rainbow it’s self was almost colourless and the sky just seemed to go from one deep pastel tone to another …. very beautiful and the colours here have not been oversaturated in pshop…. they are as it was…the light was so bright and rich / . /
