There are of course causes near and dear to my heart and this is one of them. This is the image that kept popping up in my head when I thought of AIDS. I was in high school in the 80’s and back then you were taught that AIDS was a homosexual disease and was barely glanced over in class. You closed your eyes to it; you did not talk about it. It was only a few short years later that it came to the forefront of our consciousness. I have personally been touched by AIDS (as we will all most likely be) through the lost of a friend and co-worker, Christopher, at the age of 36.

Occasionally….late in the afternoons Kane will suddenly have a grumpy irrational tired phase (as I know all parents will know about). Doesn’t matter what’s happening… what I’m doing for him… he finds a reason to suddenly be unhappy with whatever is going on (in a very cute, over dramatised, crocodile tears kind of way). Usually lasts about as long as it takes for him to lose interest or find something suddenly interesting elseswhere where suddenly the tears miraculously dry up quick as a flash and his demeanour snaps back to normalcy like the flip of a coin.. My Mum My Sister My Niece. The three most important and special women in my life! My Mum is my best friend, my teacher, my carer, my angel. She would do absolutely antyhing for anyone in the family. She’s sweet, kind, forgiving, loving, funny, positive, generous, compassionate, gentle and so very very beautiful. I trust her completely. She gives me nothing but complete, unconditional love. She always has been and will always be my role model. My sister is my best friend too. The older we get… the closer we get… She’s sweet, kind, funny, contagiously happy, friendly, loving, a natural Mother and a very beautiful lady. She’s someone that I can always trust, someone who loves me for me just the way I am, someone who’ll always be there for me no matter what. I’m just getting to know my adorable little niece Ruby Rose but already I feel a strong connection. I’m so excited to see her grow and change knowing I’ll be there to experience so many of her milestones and happy experiences. Having them all together with the rest of the family here at Emerald Lake was a blissful day. Any day where the whole family gets together is a treasured one. Thank you God for these three wonderful ladies. I’m so very blessed to have them in my life. .

This lovely old tree looks so tired!! It’s branches just reach out, twisting and curling… I love it, especially in black and white. While I was out shooting this tree, the man that lived on the property (crotchity old fella) came out to shout at me and ask what I was doing! When I explained that I simply wanted to shoot this amazing tree, I was told to do it quickly then go! Yikes!!!! Sorry old man, I was just wanting to take a friggin picture!!! I should have snapped off a few of him, but I didn’t want to take any “buckshot” in my backside!! I do (after all) live in the hills of Tennessee, and you NEVER know what folks around here will do!!!
