One of my favorites. Our kitten, OJ, was shot on the earth filled flower pot. The rat was killed by another cat who dragged it into our house, and I decided to take it’s picture before giving it a proper burial. Used the same Elinchrom studio flash as with the kitten shot, hanging the rat by it’s tail from a tripod. The flowers were crushed and shot separately, and all 3 elements were put together in Photoshop. The idea for the picture came to me when, as I was looking at the original photo of the kitten on the pot, the rat was dragged in… I waited till everyone else went to bed before doing the rat shoot session. Direction of lighting and shadow effects were important to make the collage look realistic.
jack in the boat smooching peter jack loves the camera he is a show off . and peter loves jack
Isn’t she gorgeous?
This is OJ. Alas, no longer with us as he passed away very young. Here his eyes were just changeing color and I thought I’d try to get a pose out of him. Trouble was keeping him awake long enough to get a shot. Seconds after taking this, he slumped down into the jar, deep in little kitty dreamland. It wasn’t even easy getting him out ! 3268 views… 9 November 2009
this is my kitten Kira, in her usual favourite spot lounging on the bench in front of the kettle. She looks like she was posing for the camera and didn’t move. Shame she couldnt make herself useful and make the coffee LOL
12×16 watercolor enhanced colored pencil Double portrait of my niece’s cat.. and she loved it. A rather good thing that some of us artists don’t reveal how we do things because the photos she provided me with were totally awful!! The cat was “fuzzy” and out of focus half the time and I think out of about 25 pictures there was ONE that was almost decent.. that would be the top one… the bottom one? That’s my secret.. Completed 2007
THis is Falcon, laying on a pillow in the coutch, in our house, with little or no light coming in.. afterwards I made it a little darker in photoshop, just a little little bit… to give it that little something extra.. You all know he’s my special little guy, ‘cause he had such a difficult start in life, but thanks to a lot of love and energy he pulled through and now (at the age of 2) he’s a healthy and energetic cat. I’ve written a story in him and posted it at my “writings”. camera: Sony alpha 100 / specs: nothing specific, just clicking the button and made the photo :) / had to put the camera on a standard, because of the long shutter-time, because there was hardly any light coming in … and couldn’t use the flash, ‘cause than the whole shadow-feeling would have been ruined..
This is Bo Jangles. I really like how his pupils are different shapes. It lets you know that I didn’t mess with the lighting in this picture. It’s all natural! He is a very sweet cat. Super lazy and he gets mad when we use the kitchen table. He has claimed that as his domain. :)
The world is so big and I am so small. Molly was adopted as a kitten from the local Humane Society to be a friend to our other cat, Gracie. Their personalities are so opposite. Gracie is shy and hides when people come to visit. However, Molly, loves to greet everyone and then runs if they try to pick her up. She’s curious about everything and loves to climb. We never know where we will find her exploring or resting in our home. /
This pretty kitty came up to the car I was waiting in and hung out for a bit so I managed to get some shots of those beautiful eyes. Our kitty Squeek, taking a break on the bean bag.
The title says it all.
For anyone who hasn’t seen her already! Jaguar was part of a foster program and was then adopted by my girlfriend’s loving family :)

Featured in the For the Love of Cats group. This is Emma, one of my two cats. She is sitting on her favourite place, a little bit higher than we, so she can watch everything. And hypnotise everybody with these eyes. Miaaaauw
Image by photographer Glennis Siverson, www.glennisphotos.com. Oliver is a purebred Devon Rex cat. He was diagnosed with asthma when he was 9 months old. Before his diagnosis, I didn’t know that cats could get the disease! But what’s ironic is that I also have asthma, and the vet said that when Oliver has an attack, I can use my own inhaler on him….. which he hates. Oliver is now 9 years old, loves to cuddle, purrs very loudly, wags his tail when he’s happy, and likes to sleep often. He is the most affectionate cat I have ever known, and if he wants to be held, he’ll literally jump into your arms. He has been known to surprise total strangers visiting my home by flying through the air and landing on them. Pretty funny. He is very devoted to me and growls if his 2 sisters try to butt in on his cuddle time. When he is angry or excited, his skin gets flushed and he turns pink. His fur is a soft downy-like coat of curls – very soft and velvety, and Devons do not shed very much due to their unique fur. Image captured in all natural light, underexposed by a 1/4 stop using a 17mm – 40mm zoom lens.
Emma looks right deep into your soul. And though these intense looks make people sometimes think she is angry or ready to attack, she is actually a very gentle cat who always welcomes a cuddle… ... and she is sooo prrrrroud and grrrrateful for being featured in these (8!) groups for this selective coloring photo: / For the love of cats / Ebony and ivory / Bits and Pieces / Cats and Dogs (1 per day) / ImageWriting / The Compact Group / Paws n Claws / and Pathway to the Soul as well as being featured for the black & white version in The eyes have it. ... and thankful to all who voted for her in the Cat + Mood = Win CHALLENGE OF Mood & Ambience group – and made her a WINNER!! A portrait of my very old & most wonderful feline Tia… I found her homeless just barely surviving life along the Ct. River when she was just a young lady, exact age unkown… Her now gorgeous long thick orange-white fur all matted up & knotted.. Her emerald green eyes looking so scared yet full of hope… I coaxed her into my arms & I took her home with me. Oh no I thought… Another responsiblitie in my life is about to accour.. Perhaps I will find her a home I thought.. I cut off her snarled hair to grow again… Picked off the ticks attached to her tiny boney body & bathed her… She consumed lots of food & drink and in less than a day I decided to keep her home with me… She is dble paw-ed in the front with a crackleing high pitched voice & a cry that of a babies. She is extremely feminine and gentle.. She walks like a runway model, one paw placed intently in front of the other and a sultry wiggle to boot… She is a “Cover feature “kind of calendar cat… She is special also because is she is gentle & loving back at me along to other people & other animals of all species… She is special too because she made my quality of life better starting the day she roamed out from the woods along the river & into my life. Did I mention she has the looks of a top leading calender cat? She’s a 10 & is just simply special across the board… :) Thanks for cking her out here.. 1988 views written as required by the 500 group
