  • Enjoy!

  • Just to add a little contrast to my previous barbed wire photo, here is one I took whilst in New Zealand Recently. I loved the way the frost grew on the wire.

  • The first light streaks down the snow covered summit ridge line of Mt Buller, a worthy reward for the hour walking in the snow to get there !

  • winter of 2005/2006, river in the great smoky mountains, was a great snow that year, this is a color shot, not black and white :)

  • I spent Xmas and new year in Germany in the forest , this is what it looked like . This picture was taken in the “Taunus” mountain range, about 70km North West of Frankfurt. The next bigger towns are called “Weilburg” and “Braunfels” / —-—-—-—-—— / Sally Omar / got inspired by This work and wrote this Romantic Poem to go with this Image , Thank you my friend. FROZEN Two young friends walking through the woods / It was cold and the ground was FROZEN..the trees were iced / And they giggled and laughed as they usually would / They had been friends since they were children..always nice / But this one day would change their lives like no other / The Creator looked down with the warmth of his smile / And these two young friends turned out to be lovers / The Creator saw the love they shared within / The purity of the FROZEN earth and how they were glorified / In the beauty of this place and how they were without sin / His eyes sparkled as he looked at these young friends, he sighed / Such purity and love of the FROZEN land / They are so innocent and so in love with life / And they appreciate so the work of My Hand / He warmed their hearts as though they were on fire / Their first kiss was under a tree iced by the Creator’s bliss / And they looked at each other with such burning desire / They stood under the tree and could not again help but kiss / Then gazed at each other with complete surprise / Looked around at the FROZEN earth and it all came into view / They realized the iced beauty of this place opened their eyes / And looked at each other and said I love you / The story goes on to say they lived in love for all of their days / When they left this world to go on to the better Place / They were allowed to go to the Forest where they first fell in love / Where it was magnificently FROZEN and the trees iced and brisk / The Creator smiled again and watched from above / As they shared a beautiful wonderful last FROZEN kiss.

  • This frozen waterfall was such an inspiring sight… / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography

  • Bow Lake. Alberta, Canada / March 2008 Inspired by comments from Stuart Chapman and Rhana Griffin on my last upload of this stunning setting, I decided to revisit this location… if only I could have actually revisited for real, but sadly only through my many pictures… This really was an expanse of breath taking scenery and I was more than happy to pull this one out of the bag…

  • Yet another piece from “Snow Man is My Friend.” There aren’t that many more of these left for me to post…what in the world am I going to do when I’ve put them all up? Crap…there’s not going to be any other option…I’m going to have to make new stuff. Woe is me my friends…woe is lazy ol’ me.

  • Cool picture. Literally … Winter 2007 / 2008: China had its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad has seen its first snow in all recorded history. North America had the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile — the list goes on and on. It’s cold outside, so lets light up the fireplace to stay warm and snuggly and watch some movies. Frozen road construction signal in Munich, Germany, / late December 2007 / / Laminated Print /

  • Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada / March 2008 Behold the frozen lake and exquisite beauty beyond… you can’t help but want to cross and satisfy the pioneer in you.

  • Last post ( promise!) from a magical day trying out my first dslr and playing with the settings! Untouched straight from the camera Nikon D60 / Nikkor 18-200 / UV filter / f/20 / 1/20 sec / ISO-100 / focal length 18m / tripod – still in my backpack unfortunately….. ;)))

  • There’s something very soothing and calming about these water drop/condensation shots for me. Maybe it’s the perfect symmetry of the drops or the way they look like falling rain that’s frozen in time… either way they just make my stressfulness melt away. Anyway, this is condensation on a water bottle… I shot this using my macro lens and extension tubes as well as my flash. I don’t think I had a background on this one.. just the white screen of my computer. Enjoy!

  • I awoke on Saturday 10-01-09 at 7-00am to discover the temp had dropped to -10c and everywhere was white with thick frost. I grabbed my camera and dashed to my car which was also covered in thick frost. I scrapped it clear and then sat in the car clutching my fingers they were soooooo cold it hurt. When they finally thawed out I drove into the country and took some photos. This first one shows the trees covered in frost looking so pretty.

  • A lonely park bench waiting for company in a cold winter day.

  • Simply water droplets and the patterns they make… This is condensation on a water bottle, I used my macro lens for this one and the background was my computer screen. :D Enjoy!

  • It was a dreary and grey day today. The fog was so thick so I decided to go for a drive to one of the lighthouses. This is an old outhouse hanging over the edge of the cliff next to the lighthouse. This is what the lighthouse keeper would use to scratch that itch… lol. It’s probably about 100 feet to the ocean straight below. / / What you can’t see in the image is that behind the outhouse there is nothing but open ocean for the next 3000 miles. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / Canon 400D/XTI / 3 Shots. RAW. Handheld. Photomaitx. Lightroom. CS3 / / / / More in my Outhouse Series: / / / / / /

  • El Chalten, Argentina, South America TOP 10 in the Province from Around the World challenge in First Things. / FEATURED in Made By Nature. / WINNER of the Snowscapes and Glaciers challenge in Made By Nature.

  • Just experimenting with a photo I took today (14 June 09) of a drinking fountain in Melbourne..This is another sign of boredom! / Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens / Processed in RAW.

  • Early morning light filters through the trees in the Tasmanian Mt Field National Park – and it was cold, as you can see by the ice on the pond!

  • Self-portrait with the Very Tall Bassist, 2007 So a little background – i occasionally toy with the idea of using other people in photos with me, and models in general…not that i’ll ever stray far from SP’s, but one does crave a little variety now and then – and i have some very willing victims around me, especially of late. / The Very Tall Bassist is not, in fact, “my Man” or anything like that (although, perhaps there’s a bit of the story i’m leaving to the imagination, here…), but he sure has some cool wristbands, no? ;)
