  • Viento Open parked on a watery surface. I designed the Viento cars from scratch using Maya and Photoshop. An exorbitant amount of time was spent getting this just how I wanted. Related Work: / / /

  • Spring weather in Wellington can be really changeable. After a warm, sunny day, bad weather rolls in across the harbour. So much for the promise of the rainbow!

  • Autumn fronts whip up some big breakers out west. A big dark one at Margaret River, WA.

  • Weather front, how great to see it extended as far as the eye can see! The sun was getting lower in the sky to soften the ground view & the clouds kept going forever. This was taken on the Ernest Giles Road, south of Alice Springs. Yes this is actually a major road & it was a nightmare! Two & a half hours to go 100 Kms or 60 miles driving as fast as I could & slow enough not to shake ourselves or the vehicle apart!!!!! This sight warmed our hearts a mite! / Taken with Canon 5D, 24-105 Canon zoom lens.

  • Shot this facing east as the sun was setting and a cold front was approaching to the Fort Myers, Florida area bringing these clouds. /

  • A view across the front at Lyme Regis from beneath the Millennium Clock. Lyme Regis is a coastal town in West Dorset, England and forms part of the Jurassic Coast. The town lies in Lyme Bay, on the English Channel coast at the Dorset-Devon border. It is nicknamed “The Pearl of Dorset”. In the 13th century it developed into one of the major British ports. The town was home to Admiral Sir George Somers, its one time mayor and parliamentarian, who founded the Somers Isles, better known as Bermuda. Lyme Regis is twinned with St. George’s, in that Atlantic archipelago. Lyme is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. The Royal Charter was granted by King Edward I in 1284, with the addition of ‘Regis’ to the town’s name. This charter was confirmed by Elizabeth I in 1591.

  • RED ROSE BUD / Best viewed large. / / / / FEATURED WORKS: / “RED ROSE BUD” was featured in the group THE SCAVENGER HUNT / / / “The elegant beauty of a red rose bud before it opens to full bloom!” / This was my first red rose bud to open this year in my front flower garden. This rose is quite stunning, and it begins to produce its tender buds in the early Spring. It will continue to bloom and produce many showy, beautiful flowers throughout the entire Spring and it will last until late Summer under optimal conditions. / / Poem by: Emily Matthews / WHAT IS A SOUL MATE? / If you have found a smile / that is the sweetest one you’ve known, / If you have heard, within a voice, / the echoes of your own, / If you have felt a touch / that stirs the longings of your heart, / And still can feel that closeness / in the moments you’re apart, / If you have filled with wonder / at the way two lives can blend / To weave a perfect pattern / that is seamless, end to end, / If you believe some things in life / are simply meant to be, / Then you have found your soul mate, / your heart’s own destiny.

  • CUTE What, you don’t think this little guy is cute? He’s only a couple of inches high, and you can hide it in your hand. He has a tiny metal bellows you have to set. He’s old, now: made 1950 to 1958. So, isn’t he just a cute little livin/ doll? I’ve had this little gem for about 20 years. / Once, he had lots of pals in my collection of old cameras, / but I had to leave them behind when I moved Up North. / Guess I didn’t need all that clutter anyway. >sigh< The Beacon here collapses to put it back into its case, / and when you want to use it, you simply pull the square / around the lens toward you to put the little bellows in ‘action mode’. Then you have a point ‘n’ shoot 5’ to infinity, if you can see that far. “ref 01”: http://www.merrillphoto.com/BeaconCamera.htm / “ref 02”: http://www.merrillphoto.com/BeaconCamera.htm I think it’s made of Bakelite®, which is what light-switch covers are still made of. Taken ages ago on my Olympus E500. These were my technical, less-artsy days: Alright, everybody look at me and say, “AHHHHH!” -=DS
