Fancy from afar (the looking glass)
by Symmetry44They embraced every word / Reinforcing a need to be wanted / Feeling themselves feeling each other / Conjuring emotion from hidden desire—
And so as the miles between love and love’s desire deny us our greater yearnings, so too the need to fulfill them all the more. / In that I have loved from afar, so too have I in ardor’s light, been denied the sanctity of said love by the cessation of one of God’s truest and most beautiful creations. / This was written in hopes of bridging what seemed like an eternal gap between myself and the woman I was born to love. / If for all that love requires we should fade amid life’s mysterious yet salient flame there can be but a meager semblance of sentiment’s requisite then indeed we have lived to the degree of our desire to die for that which we were born. And in having lived as much I uphold that I love you Paula Anna Challinor and I always will my love… I bid you sweet adieu angel eyes..good bye for now my love….see you soon….

The View from the moon
by MeachA poet I knew, / Said the view from the moon / Had left him feeling very small
A song I wrote back in the 1980s when I was performing at ‘Poems and Pints’ nights in pubs in the valleys of South Wales under the ‘stage’ name of Stop Tap Dai / I found a tape of me ‘singing’ it today and thought I’d share it. / It was written at a time when the Butterfly effect was first mooted and also a time when people first began to leave flowers at the scenes of accidents and, in Northern Ireland, at the scenes of bombings. / Wish I’d found it when the Challenge Cafe was doing it’s butterfly effect comp – but heh that’s life Copyright D Meacham 1984

Far From Home (A Catnip Story)
by DamianShe relaxed and the man blew more powder into her face, inducing a drugged sleep. Her mouth sagged open to reveal savage fangs, and Snipe…
A Catnip story in Gayla Drummond ’s science fiction setting. Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 The Katarr and Drac aliens belong to Gayla. I came to the series a little late, but there was a spontanious challenge thrown down from the conversation between Gayla, Jo (JC), Lisa and Kate. Their Katarr stories are great :) Gayla’s A Little Nip Does the Trick / Jo’s A Little Nip Is The Trick / Kate’s Velvet Nights / Lisa’s The Windows to The Worlds Mine’s meant to be erotic, but isn’t. Damn.

Story - A Vision from the Ocean
by DamianHer voice called to me in the night, musical and haunting; calling from beyond the crash of the surf.
A story I wrote initially as an experiement in emotion! It inspired the lovely Rose Moxon to create an image, so was my first RedBubble collaboration! This story was a finalist in the first Challenge Cafe comp!

The Dan from N.O.L.A.N
by Cathie TranentHow did you discover Redbubble, and what made you stay? The same as a lot of people in the early days, via Annelli’s Blog on The Age…
When Jo explained the concept of the survey questions to me, I knew immediately who I wanted my first interview to be. One of the very first people I didn’t previously know to comment on my work was this man. During the last twelve months, he has inspired me, teased and tormented me, commented honestly on my work, and made me think. When I approached him, to ask whether he would be interviewed his response was no. And then came “I want you to ask some other questions”. And so the “bloody photographer” was made stretch again – what do you ask someone responsible for “Fear and Loathing at Redbubble”, the wicked Scott Robinson interviews and indeed an interview with Pilgrim himself? I hope you all enjoy reading this … I know I found out some things I didn’t know about a man I respect, admire, don’t always understand, but am proud to consider a friend.

A short passage from my book
by Symmetry44What therefore permeates all matter of the mischievous mind for to traverse the intangible nature of that which lingers in and about us?
A philosophical excerpt about, you guessed it—God, that is in the book I’ve written. A little lengthy, so if you decide not to read it I understand….. / It’s inquiry is much the same as is the mystery of God himself, cyclical in nature. / I believe that the farther we delve the more inclined we are to do so, yet by such limited means(knowledge) are we forever rendered inept by that which the pinnacle (God) of ultimate wisdom depletes said knowledge thereof. / Good luck and enter at your own risk! LOL

Come in from the rain (written work)
by amaricaLove lost and learning how to live again.
I wrote this poem many years ago after losing someone I loved dearly who did not return that love. I found I could grow through and recover. It taught me the meaning of the mental cleansing and the metaphorical healing of the spiritual rain that gives us new beginnings and lets us wash away the pain. This poem inspired the artwork “Come in from the rain.” If you wish to view this art please click here
