Image of a beautiful green tree frog in my hand
Hello, This is a little cute green tree frog that hopped on a water lilly. I thought it was so great, let me hear what you think.
Photo taken with hand and camera inside the frog house. This is one of six frogs looked after by my son. Canon A450 point and shoot. Setting was macro. / / I carry my camera in my handbag at all times. All my photos are taken with this camera. I’m dreaming of a new camera.

Our little red eyed tree frog, Trickster. EDIT: Thank you all – this is not my favorite one but wanted to see how the idea would be received. So, I appreciate all your wonderful comments! This is our pet frog, Trickster. I bought cloud paper at the scrapbook store and purchased an umbrella ornament on eBay. I then hung it from our banana stand (LOL-I know, I know :-) Then I put the frog on it and snapped the shutter. Because the umbrella was hanging truly vertical he didn’t like it and it didn’t look right so in photoshop I rotated the canvas 35 degrees and cloned out the string that would hang the umbrella on the tree. That is about it. Unfortunately, I had to shoot at a higher ISO so I got some noise. Going to re-do this tomorrow with more light – it was pretty cold here and these guys like warm weather so I couldn’t play too much today.

East Greenbush – N.Y. / August 2008 / Olympus E510 The use of the common names “frog” and “toad” has no taxonomic justification. From a taxonomic perspective, all members of the order Anura are frogs, but only members of the family Bufonidae are considered “true toads”. The use of the term “frog” in common names usually refers to species that are aquatic or semi-aquatic with smooth and/or moist skins, and the term “toad” generally refers to species that tend to be terrestrial with dry, warty skin. An exception is the fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina): while its skin is slightly warty, it prefers a watery habitat. / The habitat of frogs extends almost worldwide, but they do not occur in Antarctica and are not present on many oceanic islands. The greatest diversity of frogs occurs in the tropical areas of the world, where water is readily available, suiting frogs’ requirements due to their skin. Some frogs inhabit arid areas such as deserts, where water may not be easily accessible, and rely on specific adaptations to survive. The Australian genus Cyclorana and the American genus Pternohyla will bury themselves underground, create a water-impervious cocoon and hibernate during dry periods. Once it rains, they emerge, find a temporary pond and breed. Egg and tadpole development is very fast in comparison to most other frogs so that breeding is complete before the pond dries up. Some frog species are adapted to a cold environment; for instance the wood frog, whose habitat extends north of the Arctic Circle, buries itself in the ground during winter when much of its body freezes. / Wiki / /
I took this shot of a Red-Eyed Tree Frog while in vacation at the La Paz Waterfall Gardens in Costa Rica. It is probably a species of which has been photographed more times than can be counted, but rightfully so.
A beautiful Red-Eyed Tree Frog. Taken at Comboyne, NSW. The Australian Green Tree Frog (Litoria caerulea) is a species of tree frog native to Australia and New Guinea, with introduced populations in New Zealand and the United States. The Green Tree Frog is larger than most Australian frogs, reaching 10 centimetres (4 inches) in length. The average lifespan of the frog in captivity, about sixteen years, is long in comparison with most frogs. Green Tree Frogs are docile and well suited to living near human dwellings. They are often found on windows or inside houses, eating insects drawn by the light. Due to its physical and behavioural traits, the Green Tree Frog has become one of the most recognisable frogs in its region, and is a popular exotic pet throughout the world. The skin secretions of the frog have antibacterial and antiviral properties that may prove useful in pharmaceutical preparations.
