Our red eyed tree frog on a Gerber Daisy
Our little red eyed tree frog, Trickster. EDIT: Thank you all – this is not my favorite one but wanted to see how the idea would be received. So, I appreciate all your wonderful comments! This is our pet frog, Trickster. I bought cloud paper at the scrapbook store and purchased an umbrella ornament on eBay. I then hung it from our banana stand (LOL-I know, I know :-) Then I put the frog on it and snapped the shutter. Because the umbrella was hanging truly vertical he didn’t like it and it didn’t look right so in photoshop I rotated the canvas 35 degrees and cloned out the string that would hang the umbrella on the tree. That is about it. Unfortunately, I had to shoot at a higher ISO so I got some noise. Going to re-do this tomorrow with more light – it was pretty cold here and these guys like warm weather so I couldn’t play too much today.

The Australian Green Tree Frog (Litoria caerulea) is a species of tree frog native to Australia and New Guinea, with introduced populations in New Zealand and the United States. The Green Tree Frog is larger than most Australian frogs, reaching 10 centimetres (4 inches) in length. The average lifespan of the frog in captivity, about sixteen years, is long in comparison with most frogs. Green Tree Frogs are docile and well suited to living near human dwellings. They are often found on windows or inside houses, eating insects drawn by the light. Due to its physical and behavioural traits, the Green Tree Frog has become one of the most recognisable frogs in its region, and is a popular exotic pet throughout the world. The skin secretions of the frog have antibacterial and antiviral properties that may prove useful in pharmaceutical preparations. Best Viewed Large This little guy … and all his brothers and sisters … love to come take a dip in my pool every night (I think it rains toads here) ... and every morning it is my great pleasure to scoop them out … one by one … and set them free. They’re about the size of a fingernail … a regular fingernail, you know, the kind that scrubs floors and does a bit of gardening (when not taking pictures, that is), not those long fancy manicured types. I decided the other day that it was time these guys paid for all my rescue efforts with a little modeling. Fear not … after 5 minutes or so he was sent on his merry way!!!
