As soon as I came across this lone lamb, I was reminded of the old hymn by Ira Sankey, based on Matthew 18:13…. The Ninety and Nine. There were ninety and nine that safely lay / In the shelter of the fold. / But one was out on the hills away, / Far off from the gates of gold. / Away on the mountains wild and bare. / Away from the tender Shepherd’s care. / Away from the tender Shepherd’s care. “Lord, Thou hast here Thy ninety and nine; / Are they not enough for Thee?” / But the Shepherd made answer: “This of Mine / Has wandered away from Me; / And although the road be rough and steep, / I go to the desert to find My sheep, / I go to the desert to find My sheep.” But none of the ransomed ever knew / How deep were the waters crossed; / Nor how dark was the night the Lord passed through / Ere He found His sheep that was lost. / Out in the desert He heard its cry, / Sick and helpless and ready to die; / Sick and helpless and ready to die. “Lord, whence are those blood drops all the way / That mark out the mountain’s track?” / “They were shed for one who had gone astray / Ere the Shepherd could bring him back.” / “Lord, whence are Thy hands so rent and torn?” / “They are pierced tonight by many a thorn; / They are pierced tonight by many a thorn.” And all through the mountains, thunder riven / And up from the rocky steep, / There arose a glad cry to the gate of Heaven, / “Rejoice! I have found My sheep!” / And the angels echoed around the throne, / “Rejoice, for the Lord brings back His own! / Rejoice, for the Lord brings back His own!”
This is the second of my images for my college project in which i am trying to produce ‘emotive’ portraits. This has been taken at the same location as Urban Playground (on a different day).
Ink drawing on paper. / A character from a kid’s book I’m working on. / Original size: 10×12cm
Drawn 2008. Age 21. There’s a very personal meaning to this picture, but i will reframe from sharing because I don’t want to influence your own ideas for the image :-) The young boy in this image is a character strongly influencened by myself and will be the design used in other emotively evoked works that inspire back to my childhood… and ultimately presented as illustrations in my book. This was drawn quite quickly with a black biro pen, then polished up a little on photoshop, where I cleaned the whiteness and brought out the darker shades.
From my own painting, now in exhibition in Gainsborough, UK

In the Tarantula Nebula, there is a planet just outside the orbit of the gas giant “Talon”.The planet is known by surfers across the Galaxy as “Surfer-girl’s Dream” discovered by a young lady who surfed it alone for many years before opening it up to other surfers. When Talon rises the tides are huge, waves have being measured exceeding 120 meters,a long pipe run can last for up to 5 hours,so pack a lunch. Here we see the lady herself surfing what she named the “Vortex”.

You listen with a viciousness that takes my breath away; / You lie in wait for me to speak those things I cannot say. / My pain exists but not for you to lightly smile away; / My heart is tired of loving you but more I cannot say. / You blur my life and gulp my breath and steal my dreams away; / You squeeze my heart until I choke on words I cannot say. Me, edited quite a bit. The words are mine, too. Just letting off a little steam… / /
The one I’m worried about!!
This profound quotation is commonly called St. Teresa’s Bookmark as it was found tucked into one of the great saint’s books. St. Teresa of Avila was a Carmelite nun who lived in Spain and was a great mystic and prolific spiritual writer. I created this image today for three people: for Barbara and Jerry, my mother’s neighbors who lost their home in a fire yesterday. All of their worldly possessions were destroyed in about thirty minutes. Barbara ran out of the house with her purse, her robe and house slippers, and the cup of coffee she was holding when smoke billowed everywhere. The other person I created this for is a friend, Brenda, who emailed me to say she was feeling low and needed a word of encouragement. I thought that these three people who are deeply troubled would be comforted by these words of enduring wisdom and truth. Maybe someone else needs to hear them, too. God help us all to remember that he alone suffices and he alone is unchanging and dependable.
Quite friendly people, but sometimes strange things are happening…
Haunted… This house is said to be haunted and many people have reported seeing the same 2 ghosts, a husband and wife that were murdered here many years ago.
Painting. 18 in.x 24 in. Oil and acrylic. Study of rocks, still water, leaves, and a lizard. You get to figure out why it’s called “Heads Up”.

THE VISITOR Best viewed large. “THE VISITOR” was featured in the group THE SCAVENGER HUNT THE VISITOR / There is a visitor you see who comes here every night, / He haunts the grounds of Central Park, some say he looks like light, / He walks for hours and never stops, they say he is a ghost, / So I went there in early ‘morn, my quest to see him most. The dawning of a brand new day would come in just one hour, / I rushed to find this visitor who many said had power, / If only I could catch one glimpse, a single look or two, / Then I’d capture his photograph and show it here for you. So through the foggy, misty morn, just over from the pond, / I saw a mystery light appear, before the break of dawn, / I could not scream or shout out loud, I trembled from such fear, / All I could do was look and shoot his picture you find here. Some say he is an old, old ghost, who walks the park at night, / He haunts the grounds of Central Park, some say he looks like light, / So come to Ashland and you’ll see, just what I mean and more, / When you see with your frightened eyes this special visitor. / Photo shot in Ashland, Kentucky in Central Park with my DSLR Canon 40 D. / , /
