I think this pictures gives you an idea of the different personalties in the 3 girls…one pefers flip flops could mean she’s more free spirited and wild, the other prefers to wear closed toe shoes with no laces, meaning she’s probably a little rebelus, the other has closed toe shoes with big shoe laces, maybe that means she’s a conservative type of person…Whatever the meaning of the 3 girls with different shoes may be, I just think this is a great way to show the difference of people through more than just their face and clothes!!!

Uploaded for a challenge. This is our dog Lucky. You painted all the trees, you didn’t know that they would die, / you varnished all the leaves, you didn’t know they couldn’t breathe This is a drawing i did inspired by a song and a friend (the best combination for an artwork in my belief)... The song in mind is Treeology by Shady Bard. The lyrics of the beginning are at the top and the rest on the artwork. Now for my friend… As you might have gathered I am a hippie at heart, an AMIABLE personality type and so is she. (Read the description provided for more information). One day whilst drawing and painting together she decided our personailties were like trees.. we provide love, shelter, care,a safe haven for friends, secrets, sorrows and love and give shade to the needy and a place to rest for the wary. we provide, life, homes, peace, love, fun, knowledge, spirit, history, pleasure, beauty to the world and the world would be boring and lifeless without us. yet sometimes, people sit in our branches, breaking them whilst gorging our fruit, picking our flowers and carving our bark. Yet silent as we are, we allow it to happen and remain quiet about the pain and sorrow we feel, only other trees understand and feel our pain (we tend to show emotions yet give no reason or meaning behind it)... I though this very appropriate and so decided to draw it… and it links in with the song… Done in ink Featured In Finks Of Ink / Music Inspired Art
I just love Carolina wrens; they are perky and bursting with personality. This one seemed to be saying, “Chin up!” Makes me cheerful just to see him. The Carolina wren is known for its jaunty little poses, its upright tail, its distinctively long white eyebrow, and most of all its LOUD song! This little bird can belt out some tunes! Their movements are rapid and erratic and unlike some songbirds that linger at the feeders, the Carolina wren usually is very hasty about getting its grub and leaving abruptly which makes it hard to photograph as a result. Though they have occasionally made nests in nesting boxes, they seem to prefer hanging baskets for their domain. They build little igloo-like dwellings lined with soft mosses and lichens cleverly concealed within a fern or other such plants. Usually, the first time I notice their presence in one of my hanging baskets is during a routine watering when the wren comes charging out of hiding, sometimes barely missing my head! A cute little neighbor all around!

A Tribute to A Peer…Bernard… Painting & Introduction by Reynaldo / Poem by Anthea When I started to paint this work Bernard came to mind…..his style of work and even though I cannot create his style, as each artist has a signature style, even if the artist can create different styles, his signature style always comes through in some form. The more I worked on this painting the more he came to mind. It was almost as if he was standing behind me. I didn’t really know Bernand all that well…… but I knew his work and It always moved me… Reynaldo Sensitivity & Soul We knew him through his art. / Looking at Bernards painting was / like looking directly into Bernards heart / so beautiful…so generous, he revealed much / with such extraordinary sensitivity / and such nuanced feeling / he spoke to us. Emotions so real / feelings so tender / following the contours of his heart / the journeys of his mind / All his eyes had it / windows into the beauty that resided in his soul. / Eyes that would hold your attention / turning glances into stares of wonder / thoughts into feelings of awe. As admirers and viewers of his art / we always responded emotionally to his marks / He conveyed such an extreme sensitivity, / a gentleness and awareness of human emotion / that was unique in his style. Learning of his leaving / threw us into a state of shock / Bernard left without a warning / gone…with grace and dignity…he departed / leaving his art in his wake… / a transcendent and magnificent legacy. Just his art from his heart / that revealed his vulnerability / and defined his humanity / and depicted his genius His style, his own / speaking from a voice within with: / the nuance of emotion / the boldness of lines / the expressiveness of his eyes / the sensualness of his nudes / the humanity and the touch of playfulness / always close to the surface The breadth and depth of emotion / always left us reaching for words / to define these feelings / Words fell short as his paintings / took us on journeys where words cannot go. His bold and sweeping strokes of confidence / Showed in his masterful and beautiful work. / A true artist with the brilliance / the genius, the power that urged him to / create masterpiece after masterpiece Oh Bernard our friend, / Our peer in art / Your finesse and grace / with the genius of your heart / will speak to us forever with reverie We thank you for the your art / and your heart that / touched our lives and / will forever more / Rest in peace beautiful friend. / You will never be forgotten / Your beautiful art will remind us / of your soul always and take / us deeper into the mysteries of our own. / Sleep well dear Bernard, / Sleep well, and in peace, friend. We send our love and deepest sympathies / to Bernard’s Family and Close Friends. By Anthea Slade 2009 Acrylic on 140 lb. Watercolour paper 24×18
