Purple hydrangea in a glass vase with a friendship quote.
My dear Bubbler friend, Lora Mae, was inspired to write this sweet soulful prayer of praise after viewing my photo, Robin on a Precipice She said it looked as though the robin was greeting the Lord and she composed his prayer for me to include with a photo. I chose this robin, standing on one leg, his way of “kneeling” for matins (morning prayer). Thank you, Lora Mae, for your kind gift to me which is straight from the heart. Please view LoraMae’s Bubble space filled with beautiful expressions from a beautiful soul. LoraMae

Ophelia received an invitation from the riverside frangipanis to join them in a party. Upon reaching, she was surprised to find out that the frangipanis had thrown a party just for her, to celebrate these new friendship ties. They never had an owl as a friend and they were just as delighted as Ophelia to have found this new companionship. What hospitable flowers! Ophelia had never felt so loved before. “I certainly hope I get invited again!” Ophelia secretly wished ;D / / / You can view and buy my other “Frangipani Party” creations from my Zazzle Gallery: / /

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO WILDLIFE APPEAL!! This is the cute shot. I thought I would die of boredom.. they all are pretty inactive. But this shot when I came home really showed the beauty and the sweetness of just being a pup!! Taken in the Año Nuevo SNR State Natural Reserve Northern California / ELEPHANT SEAL AFTERNOON WEANERS / When the weaned pups are four to six weeks old, their original coat of black fur molts and is replaced by a shiny new silver coat. Soon afterward, they begin learning to swim in the shallow offshore waters or ponds formed by rainwater. They are very curious and rather awkward and somewhat afraid of the water at first. But they learn quickly, spend more and more time swimming about, and then, during the last three weeks of April, they go to sea one by one and disperse northwestward. They feed off the coast of northern Washington and Vancouver Island in British Columbia and do not appear on land again until September. Females reach maturity at the age of 3-5 years and males at 9-10 years. Gestation lasts 11.3 months, including a 3 month delay of implantation. The pregancy rate is 95%. Longevity is 14 years. Pup mortality is highly variable: Año Nuevo: 15-26% SE Farallon: 0-73% Los Coronados: 5-10%. The male mortality rates at Año Nuevo are: puberty: 42%, adult: 46%, full grown: 50%. Female mortality rates are unknown, but certainly lower. / Trophic relations Scratching There is probably no competition between the elephant seals and other pinnipeds, like the California sea lion, the Northern fur seal or the Pacific harbor seal, because the feed on different species and breed at other times. There is an increased competition for terrestial haul-out sites. There are some records of elephant seals attempting to mount harbor seal pups, killing them in the process (Mortenson and Follis, 1997). Possible predators are sharks and killer whales. / Interactions / Some seals are killed by fishermen. Occasionally elephant seals get entangled in fishing nets, but not very often. For 1980 only 25 cases of entanglement were reported (DeMaster et al, 1985). / Population size Sparring bulls The lowest count of this species was between 1884 and 1892: somewhere between 8 and 20 were left. Since then there has been an almost exponential increase, especially in the northern colonies. In 1957 there were 13,000 elephant seals, in 1976: 48,000. The population is still not at equilibrium (Boveng et al, 1988). In 1991, the total population was estimated at 127,000, with 28,164 pups born that year and there appears to be a 6% annual increase (Stewart et al, 1994)
For millions of years the sun rises and the sun sets. Still, after seeing sunsets for hundreds of times, we are still touched. There is little to compare with its brilliance. It catches us until the last of the twilights is gone into the night. / / Framed Print /

Today was my first day of the new term. I am very happy to meet all of my friends again after off school about a month. School is a school, you know that :) The best exciting for me is not really class and friends…hehe.. It is a garden of school. There has many type of flowers and trees. I love that. We have some rain in Thailand now, and some flowers bloom after rain and these little lilies are one of them. :)) / I used PENTEX K200D / 1/125 s, f/8 / /
