Synthetic polymer paint and newspaper collage on paper. From a series documenting friends who have died from HIV/AIDS related illnesses. Chris’s new glasses finally arrived, the day before he died. He could barely breath, each breath racked his body. The effort of reaching and shakily putting on his glasses seemed to take forever, and exhausted him. He turned his face to me – a skull on a skeleton with a tissue of skin scraped over it. “How do I look?” he asked.

This is a special portrait I made up for my Grandmother….you see she had a beautiful white peacock, her pride and joy, well living out in the desert can sometimes seem harsh, but when you go to my Grandmother’s house its like a little oasis with gardens and fruit trees and the peacocks always made it seem so special, just recently coyotes got into her fence and killed all of her peacocks and I know she misses them so much….she found some of the feathers from her white peacock and now has them in a vase in her living room, I think this would look so nice next to them…...so here is my special gift to my Grandmother : )

When we rocked up in Jaisalmar in between these great walls the first thing I saw was this little girl ..balancing..on this rope..wauw i thought how amazing…i watched her many times, she had to earn the family money, mum and dad and little baby where there to collect the money. / I spoke to the father, he told me when he was small he used to do this for many many years, now it was his daughters turn…..she was a lovely child,,but i did feel sad too…. This is the bear which Udon(my chow chow puppy) is passionately in love with right now….Estella is her name. Udon will smile his brightest smile whenever he sees Estella and wants to play with her(or tear her apart, not too sure)...I have to keep her in high places just in case :D / /

I got bored one day and decided to use my macro lens on something other than flowers, haha… so I had some old costume jewelry…and here we are. Sigh, someday I’ll have some real diamonds.

As some of you may already know, I recently found out that my sweet Doobie has bone cancer. I drove her an hour to the nearest bone specialist on Friday, thinking that she needed another knee surgery, but was heart broken when the Dr. showed me the x-ray of her poor little ankle that is being eaten away by the cancer. He said that she is in a lot more pain than she’s showing. Our options are to amputate the leg & do chemo which could give her another 6 months+ or letting her go now so that she doesn’t have to endure any more pain. Besides this, the ulcer in her eye is coming back & she has arthritis in her spine, so as much as it kills me to say goodbye, I think the time is coming soon. She is comfortable now on 3 different pain killers lying on the couch beside me, but my heart is breaking thinking of the days ahead. We will just continue to spoil her & appreciate the 10 years we had with her. I appreciate all the messages I’ve received from you.
