Three beech trees perched on the edge of the Avebury stone circle like old friends. Their shallow roots are knitted together in a union of mutual support. (infrared film). Please note: All commission will be donated to: The World Land Trust
My question is.. How do you feel and react when you know that your marriage is over? I personally can’t imagine the feeling but I have seen my best friend and model go through it first hand and it’s a total feeling of loss, hopelessness and sadness. My apologies for being melancholy but this is the unfortunate reality for many couples. Again, thank you to my beautiful model and friend…...
This is my 3rd and final piece in this series and I believe it closes this chapter yet leaves the door open to endless possibilities. This piece represents the past , present and a greener yet unwritten future. I believe we are all very resilient; can come through hardship and triumph in our unpredictable journey through life…... Again, a huge thank you to my friend and model…. / Nikon D80 / 18-200mm lens

Yet another black and white from my book “Snow Man is My Friend.” I post it only because I haven’t had time lately (and have been much to lazy) to do anything new. Still, it’s a pretty nice little drawing, no?

High on windswept ridges in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in eastern California’s White Mountains live the planet’s oldest known living organisms – the ancient Bristlecone Pines (Pinus longaeva). Some of these trees were already growing when the Egyptians built the pyramids over 4000 years ago. The oldest known Bristlecone Pine is “Methuselah”. This gnarled and twisted tree is about 4,800 years old – and still able to reproduce. But only a few bristlecones have been able to grow to such incredibly old ages, survived ultraviolet rays, extreme cold, wind, and aridity in this harsh environment between the Eastern Sierra Nevada and Death Valley in an elevation between 10,000 and 11,000 feet (3,048 and 3,354 meters) above sea level. These old trees, the oldest living things on earth, 2800 years older than Christ, are now strictly protected by law and guarded carefully. “Thank you for being a friend” Card / Laminated Print / Please note: RedBubble automatically re-sharpens and adds contrast to uploaded images for web display. That’s why some originally properly exposed, sharp thumbnails and large previews appear too harsh and too sharp. / Printed Photographs are properly exposed and sharpened!

The butterfly and birds were taken from my painting “Thoughts and Things” and the white flower is an old plastic earring….the teapot was given to me by my father who knows I collect tiny silver things like this…..from an op shop somewhere, thank you dad! The table is a cork! Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

I’m so glad every now and then it snows heavily in England. I rushed out looking for potential spots to photograph, I took this one in Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire, UK. Photographed from the car as that was the only place I could see to get the shot between the hedges without falling in a ditch. Plus it was cold and I’d rushed out of the house without a jumper. BGB Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/14, 1/200 sec, ISO 200. No filters used. I just had the sensor cleaned to this is straight form the camera. / original drawing on A3 acid free cartridge paper A drawing which has been digitally coloured, in which a little friend of the forest is overwhelmly touched by the beauty of a particular very old and majestic tree. She spontaneously expresses her love and gratitude with a symbolic hug, revealing her love for her surrounds during a moonlit walk. Just the thing for friends, children, nursery, birthdays, special occasions and something a little different perhaps for an unusual Christmas card.
