Acrylic On Canvas Ophelia,Phoebe and Mel having fun on the elephant’s back….and elephant was pleased to have their company as well! :D This was painted in May’08 and I remembered I had a yearning to want to visit Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand :D..so that was why I painted these 3 friends having an outing with the elephant….because there are many elephant reserves there in Chiang Mai, where they protect these precious animals from harm. I love it when Udon lies down like this, he reminds me of a baby seal :D Just that maybe his eyes are not as big as those seals but he’s still cute nevertheless :D

As I rounded a curve and a small hill I encountered a palomino horse and a little dog taking a casual stroll down the middle for the road, needless to say, I made a sudden STOP! They just trotted down the road ahead of me for quite a long distance and then stepped off to the side of the road as I slowly passed by. The horse began enjoying the fresh patches of green grass aside the road. The little dog, his obvious pal and escape partner, simply sat down while his friend had a green lunch and patiently waited to resume their “freedom jaunt” once again! / I stopped at a farm about 1/4 mile down the road to ask if the two belonged there but no one was home. I drove on and stopped again at another horse ranch two miles further on the road. The critters belonged to the farm where I had first stopped I was told by a worker there. Turning around and heading back towards the farm it had been over an hour by now, I at first did not see them on or near the road as before, then I passed by a small dirt lane leading uphill to a hugh pasture and there was the little dog sitting high upon a bank looking off towards the pastures. I stopped and looked closer, his friend , the horse , was slowly making his way back to the fenced area he had escaped from! One could say, their day’s walk and sightseeing had come to an end and they were returning home! They were a bonded pair and their friendship was very evident! I drove on, feeling good, they were again safe!

Meet Sasparilla, This is what I was presented with one weekend. My cat brought him in (totally unharmed I might add) and let this little fellow run around. It was someone’s pet that I would say has been released into the bush. Such a friendly little guy. He sits in this sock beside the keyboard…just keeping company…now I really do have a mouse. Yes, he has been named, so it looks like we have another pet. This is Monty the Ragdoll. /

Going back through my past images I came across this photo of our two samoyeds, Maximus and Tarkyn. They were great mates as you can see in this photo. Unfortunately when we moved houses a couple of years back they tried to play with a red-belly black in the back garden and by the time I got them to the vet they were too far gone. I havent looked at these photos since that time. Nikon D70, Back-Lit with SB-600 (off camera)
