Château in the Parc de Sceaux ❏ About the Location : Sceaux is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 9.7 km (6 miles) from the center of Paris. Sceaux is famous for the Château of Sceaux, set in its large park (Parc départemental de Sceaux), designed by André Le Nôtre, measuring 2 km². The original château, demolished during the Revolution, was built by Jean-Baptiste Colbert, the minister of finance to Louis XIV and purchased by Louis’ illegitimate son, the duke of Maine in 1699. His duchesse held court in a glittering salon at Sceaux in the first decades of the eighteenth century. ❏ The present château, rebuilt 1856-62 in a Louis XIII style, is now the museum of Ile de France open for visits. ❏ Sceaux is a very pretty city, especially downtown with its main pedestrian full of luxury shops such as bakeries, bookstores and chocolate sellers. This street is rue Houdan. ❏ Housing costs are extremely high, higher than in many districts of Paris, especially with streets facing the Parc de Sceaux, in the Quartier des musiciens and the west side of the Quartier des Blagis. ✔ For Potential Buyers : To me, this one is an all-purpose image. But if you have a room decorated with fairy tale artifacts, I think you would like to have a couple of paradise like images!
River Seine From Tour Eiffel ❏ Taken on a winter evening from the Eiffel tower in Paris. The conditions were challenging. It was freezing cold (specially under the influence of gales of winds). The tripod was shivering too! ❏ The Seine is a major river of north-western France, and one of its commercial waterways. It is also a tourist attraction, particularly within the city of Paris. ❏ Interesting Fact : A very severe period of high water in January 1910 produced extensive flooding throughout the city. The Seine again rose to threatening levels in 1924, 1955, 1982 and 1999-2000. After a first-level flood alert in 2003, about 100,000 works of art were moved out of Paris, the largest relocation of art since World War II. Much of the art in Paris is kept in underground storage rooms that would be flooded. A 2002 report by the French government stated the worst-case Seine flood scenario would cost 10 billion Euros, cut telephone service for a million Parisians, leave 200,000 without electricity and 100,000 without gas. (-Wiki) ✔ For Potential Buyers : Ideal choice for a wall hanging. The image image should be placed strategically in order that maximum light falls over the image. The backdrop being black-dominated, the colored portions will automatically give the wanted magical glow.

Interior of the Pantheon in Paris, France. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera. I have changed it to monochrome. The Panthéon (Latin Pantheon, from Greek Pantheon, meaning “All the Gods”) is a building in the Latin Quarter in Paris, France. It was originally built as a church dedicated to St. Genevieve, but after many changes now combines liturgical functions with its role as a famous burial place. It is an early example of Neoclassicism, with a façade modelled on the Pantheon in Rome, surmounted by a small dome that owes some of its character to Bramante’s “Tempietto”. Located in the 5th arrondissement on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, the Panthéon looks out over all of Paris. Its architect, Jacques-Germain Soufflot, had the intention of combining the lightness and brightness of the gothic cathedral with classical principles. Soufflot died before his work was achieved, and his plans were not entirely followed. The transparency he had planned for his masterpiece was not attained. Nevertheless, it is one of the most important architectural achievements of its time and the first great neoclassical monument.
