What attracted me to take this images were the vibtant colours of the elements and the interaction of each element. It can be a fleeting moment unless you stop and see it. I love these moments.
Urban cityscape as viewed from the observation deck of the Shinjuku government tower (the south one, I think) in Tokyo, Japan. (Admission is free to both towers’ observation decks, so if you’re ever in Shinjuku, bear that in mind. Bear in mind also that your chances of the weather being clear enough to see Mt Fuji are cripplingly small. I certainly didn’t see it!) Anyway, back to the shot: I like it, it’s pretty cool, and I just adore Tokyo; but I was really, REALLY surprised when it won the October pentaxforums forum challenge poll, for the theme : “Cityscape” 8)) So in that regard, I guess it is the most ‘popular’ photo I’ve taken, as well as one I like!
The excavator, the wall, the cloud and the bright / orange pole caught my eye while riding along the / new Eastlink tollway in Melbourne’s East (which is just / as well, otherwise eastlink in Melbourne’s west wouldn’t / seem right:) This new 39km tollway will have sculpture’s all along its route. Went down to the old Monash Freeway for a few light trails shots at dusk just 2 minutes from my house. I’ve always wanted to get some really cool light trails shots and this I was real happy with :) After looking at a few I wanted to do something a bit different with it. HDR done in Photomatix and went for a Direct Positive look in AdobeLightroom. Exposures were 13 seconds, 3.2 seconds and 30 seconds f 7.1 at ISO 100. A more dramatic interpretation of my previous post. /
On my way home from the city wanted to capture the S curve in the Monash Freeway near East Malvern setup the tripod and aimed the camera through this bloody annoying fence, it was too high for my tripod so i had to zoom in a bit to miss the pailings. White Balance was tinkered with in Lightroom, 30 second exposure at f 11, focal length was was 37mm at ISO 100 Sales 1 Greeting Card Click here for my other images of Melbourne Click here for my other photos of the Monash Freeway

I know, I know, I’ve posted a few of this lately, but I wanted to frame a really big one and didn’t think my 21 megapixel camera had enough resolution to do it justice so I waited for a windless night and went back. This baby is a four shot stitch giving me all the res I need for a mega print (enough for a large poster size and more) without the fisheye lens distortion although the perspective is still pretty extreme. Not sure if I like the clear or cloudy sky more, opinions welcome. Gateway Sculpture, Tullamarine Freeway, Melbourne, Australia.
