This pattern was drawn freehand with no predetermined design. When I put pen to paper, I never know how it will turn out. I am always surprized at the result. No two patterns are ever alike. Each pattern is imperfect but since they are freehand, they flow visually, drawing the viewer into the pattern. Because the patterns are so interesting, their imperfections don’t seemto matter. I hope people will enjoy them.
Grey-Striped Fly – Sarcophaga aurifrons This fly landed near to where I was trying to photograph another insect. I snapped the image with the camera held freehand. I did not expect to get such a nice result from the casual method I took to get the image.
Pointillism, Stippling, Checkerboard, Pattern Black and white, pen and ink, Flowers, surrealism, abstract, original drawing freehand in black permanent ink on white hot press board. I couldn’t decide which direction to post this, so the bonus is that it looks ok vertical or horizontal.

Pen and ink, pointillism/stippling original art on hot press art board. This was inspired by a photograph in a magazine (that was lost before I finished.) The woman had a lot of make up on and her hair was wild and dramatic which I tried to capture with the different effect of dots.
Pen and ink on acid free drawing paper. Doodle, drawn in permanent ink.

A freehand painting on computer (see profile). I painted this with a friend in mind who is a carving fan. I’d love to be able to have a long chat with this man in the painting, I feel he is wise.

This was done while I was contemplating the trees near where I live over a nice cold glass of Strongbow. Sadly enough, this was the reason why I lost my wallet (not to worry, it wasn’t stolen, but the bartender took my liscense to make fake ideas :p hehe)

Portland, OR, winter 2008, pen on paper, freehand when i lived in portland for a little while, i used to sleep in this basement on the couch in front of that creepy room. you can see some damage on the wall from where the place caught on fire a long time ago. it really seemed like that dark room was haunted by some kind of angry ghost, although i try not to be superstitious.
