  • A bald eagle perched atop a bare tree and looking intensely around him reminded me of Rick and Scot, two nephews, who are serving our country in the Middle East, both of them on their second tour of duty, both having served in Iraq and Afghanistan, both with wives and children at home, both brave and giving young men. I would like to dedicate this image (taken at Amelia, Louisiana, on January 1, 2009) to Rick and Scot and to their families who are also very vital components in the defense of freedom. Thank you for your courage and perseverance. God be with you and safeguard you. Aunt Bonnie

  • Great as an Easter card, available in my clothing and cards portfolio . The framed format would look great in a nursery or a child’s room. Even grown-ups could find it inspiring in the right setting. There are a lot of symbols in here aside from the obvious. Eggs represent the Creation, the four elements and life itself. It is a powerful symbol of birth and rebirth. The butterfly is a symbol of transformation, love and joy. In some cultures, it is also associated with feminineness, beauty and fragility. More often, we see it representing freedom. This is a composite made of 2 of my flower photos, one abstract of christmas lights manipulated to change the hues to more pastel tones and to give it a twirl , plus one of a butterfly, altered to look like an illustration and used twice here in two different hues. So there are 4 photos in all in the composite and the egg has been created digitally. • Beautiful Bald Eagle / Image taken in Ladner, British Columbia, Canada

  • Featured in Extreme Close-Ups August 19, 2009. Looks Best Full Size I fell deeply, madly, wildly in love with this sweet darling baby calf at Ann Rodriguez’s farm when The Keystone Group visited recently. What struck me as I viewed the image in the monitor was the reflection of one of the trucks (cars?) in her eye. And I wondered … was she planning her escape??? Ahhh … but for opposable thumbs … what a different world this might be for her … for us all. No beef for me tonight. Pass me a piece of fish instead, please. Image taken on August 8, 2009 near Manheim, PA with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter was 1/200, aperture f/7.1, exp -.33, iso 3200. Slight cropping in Photoshop only.
