Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (no 2 from series of 3 re-worked). Shot two seperate models & combined them. Draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, body, dress, added fringe to face, made the features more angular, blew up lips, created cheekbones, reworked branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated & added a sepia tone. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers.

When he sent me the MP3, I loved it. I put it up on my web site for everyone to hear, and told people about it at shows. A few weeks later, I played a private party in Manhattan, and I told the story about the wonderful cover of Mercy Now in Hebrew. Well, I had no idea that the Palestinian Ambassador to the US was in the audience. He came up to me after the show, and encouraged me to come to Palestine. He seemed a little put off by my glowing endorsement of the Hebrew version of my song. It dawned on me that I’d love to have an Arabic version of Mercy Now in addition to the Hebrew version. Then it hit me that I’d love to hear a version of Mercy Now translated into in as many languages as possible, especially the languages of places where war and political upheaval cause great pain and suffering. I am inviting musicians from everywhere to send in a version of Mercy Now in their musical own musical style and in their native language to SingMercyNow@gmail.com, and we’ll post them up on the SingMercyNow Myspace page for the world to listen to. Arrested Expansion is a symbolic scene that depicts a combination of self-excluding objects that might not be present in real life. Objects in the secluded room make the viewer feel claustrophobic and unreal, which might be compared to someone’s mental delusion based on a medical condition. Image is a mixture of photo stock with some 2D vectors, and 3D objects. Photoshop, 3ds max, Illustrator. / The most common cause of cardiac arrest is a heart rhythm disorder or arrhythmia called ventricular fibrillation (VF). The heart has a built-in electrical system. When a contraction happens, blood is pumped. But in ventricular fibrillation, the electrical signals that control the pumping of the heart suddenly become rapid and chaotic. As a result, the lower chambers of the heart, the ventricles, begin to quiver (fibrillate) instead of contract, and they can no longer pump blood from the heart to the rest of the body. If blood cannot flow to the brain, it becomes starved of oxygen, and the person loses consciousness in seconds. Ascension is about love and its power. Anahata is the chakra located in the heart region. iI has 12 petals and it is connected to the capacity of loving deeply and also to the feelings of compassion and empathy. It is generally depicted in the color green, but in my mind it appeared in luminous yellow with hints of red. It is through the anahata chakra that we can contact universal love. It is the main point of contact to the so-called “inner Christ” and the upper planes. Other symbols I used to represent the same concept are the water, running upward in a straight blue stripe across the picture, and the fish. The fish is connected to the Pisces sign and also to the primitive Christianity message. Both symbols are related to universal love and compassion. The skull means that loves transcends even death, and leads to a deep transformation. It also has the meaning of the XIII arcane, Death – things that die to give place to other ones, a deeply alchemical experience. The upper figure is representative of a state of ecstasy and bliss conduced by deeply spiritual experiences. When we are able to achieve a full state of love, even for brief moments, we feel like we are connected to something bigger and higher. Experiencing love is also a totally libertarian thing, which I wanted to show through the hawk with open wings emerging from all the violet at the top. It’s only through love that we can transcend our material condition and achieve perfect happiness and fulfillment.

The burden of these images dominates man’s thinking, his relationships and his daily life. These images are the causes of our problems for they divide man from man. His perception of life is shaped by the concepts already established in his mind. The content of his consciousness is his entire existence. This content is common to all humanity. The uniqueness of man does not lie in the superficial but in complete freedom from the content of his consciousness, which is common to all mankind. So he is not an individual. Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not a choice. It is man’s pretence that because he has choice he is free. Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of punishment and reward. / Freedom is without motive; freedom is not at the end of the evolution of man but lies in the first step of his existence. In observation one begins to discover the lack of freedom. Freedom is found in the choiceless awareness of our daily existence and activity. Thought is time. Thought is born of experience and knowledge which are inseparable from time and the past. Time is the psychological enemy of man. Our action is based on knowledge and therefore time, so man is always a slave to the past. Thought is ever-limited and so we live in constant conflict and struggle. There is no psychological evolution. When man becomes aware of the movement of his own thoughts he will see the division between the thinker and thought, the observer and the observed, the experiencer and the experience. He will discover that this division is an illusion. Then only is there pure observation which is insight without any shadow of the past or of time. This timeless insight brings about a deep radical mutation in the mind. Total negation is the essence of the positive. When there is negation of all those things that thought has brought about psychologically, only then is there love, which is compassion and intelligence.”
