My entry for the T-Shirt Revolution Vintage, Faded and Distressed challenge /
Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco July, 2008. I”m putting this into a competition ‘Adverse Weather’ in a few weeks. Any suggestions/crtiques would be most welcomed.

On April 22, 2009 this image won the California Challenge in the American Southwest Group. On April 1, 2009 this image won the Black & White Challenge in the Retired & Happy group. This image placed third in the Best Treatment challenge in December ‘08. The Golden Gate Bridge was barely visible in this dense morning fog. From a cliff overlooking the bay, the pillar was visible as well as a misty outline of the San Francisco skyline. Built in 1933, the bridge was completed 5 years later in 1937. It is a part of US Highway 101 and State Route 1, and is the only road to exit San Francisco to the north. A bit of trivia: The suspension bridge is 8,981 feet in length and is 200+ feet above the water. It has a total of approximately 1.2 million rivets holding it together. Photo of mine at the Golden Gate Bridge 7 days ago, added the mustang and a bit of my Vintage Magic.
A slightly confused trolley across the bay from the San Francisco city. This thing was missing a wheel and rusty as hell. Shot around 7:50 pm before the sun had gone down, a little experiment with my new ND400 Filter :) If you look extremely carefully the golden gate is on the horizon engulfed in the infamous fog that rolls in every single bloody day… / Settings Canon 40D, 17-85mm IS. FL: 20mm 20 seconds @ f22, ISO 100 ND8 Graduated Filter and Hoya ND400 HMC Filter Adobe Lightroom 2

This image is dedicated to the Men & Women of the United States of America like “Leona” (R&B Buddy E.R. Bazors Mum) who actually stood guard at locations similar to this with binoculars contributing to the Country’s coastal defense. My Buddy Bazors description: “I am sure that my Mom would have appreciated that….she stood watch on a platform up in the ity bity coastal town of Fort Bragg, California. She told me about the bunkers around the bay at San Francisco…I didn’t mean to imply that she stood watch at that location. But, I am sure that many dedicated citizens like her stood watch with binoculars and coastal defence canons of some sort at this location to keep the entrance to the bay safe during the years of the war. Everyone had a need to feel part of the defense of the country…and there were real dangers from the Japanese on the West Coast. So, since Mom (Leona) is gone now I am sure she would be happy to have you dedicate that photo to all of the citizens like her who stood watch on U.S. shores during the war to help keep everyone safe”. / +++ / Bazor / . / .

Taken at Fort Baker. The fog was dense enough to block the view of San Francisco entirely. Fort Baker, California

Trying for an old postcard look of this oft-photographed landmark. Shot from Baker Beach, on an unseasonably warm November day.

Location: San Francisco California / Technique: Time Lapse Thought Id go a bit “OG” with no HDR or any special filters. I was out crabbin with my “Pare, Mr Rolando Vibat” (My sons Godfather) at the Presidio in San Francisco. I originally planned this shoot (While checking the nets) with “Star Trails” in mind but was not able to do so because I was on my last my last battery when the sequence finished with only 6 shots and 24 more to go. Although a future trip is in the works I was a bit disappointed, hence this single exposure. Featured in Group: / “Northern California Style” – Dec 12/2008
