  • Inspired by Angelique Brunas work. I’m far from being as good as her as an artist, but she’s a great source of inspiration and this helps me to improve.

  • Eguisheim, Alsace (France) This town is a truely medieval town, founded in the 7th century on the (today presumed) location of a Roman fort. This town-type is sometimes called an “onion town” as with the exception of the east-west main road all streets circle around the center of the town like the layers of an onion. In medieval times the center was formed by a water castle (built on the 8th century, parts can still be seen incorporated in buildings that are still in use today). In this photo we see the two outermost roads of that classic onion layer of streets, as they merge into a single, somewhat wider, street. The outermost road is called “rue de rempart” which means “street of the city wall”, as it followed that. The old framework buildings are very interesting to study as many window frames are carved with (often religious) sayings or ornaments.

  • This is a composite image. The Canyon is from the Na Pali Coast on Kauai taken from a helicopter and the floor is of the musee d’Orsay in Paris. I made the floor “glass” so you can see the rest of the canyon below. At the top of the canyon are clouds which normally cover this area of the island. I was looking for something “fun” to do one night while playing on the computer and about two days later this image was finished. I was hoping to create a magical place …on paper at least. I love in the Studio, when people look at this image, get that look on their face, and ask me me, “Where is that?” “In my head”, I answer. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to visit a real place like this?

  • Paris is an incredibly beautiful city. I was just strolling down the street and shot this scene. There was a light rain a few minutes earlier and I loved the reflection of the lights on the street and the bicycles awaiting their owners…

  • Nikon D60+Orton Effect / Bridlignton, North Yorkshire, UK TOP TEN IN THE CHALLENGE ARCHITECTURE-Tall (2-4 story) buildings Looking for style The Story of Sewerby Exterior View of Sewerby Hall / In old writings the name Sewerby is found variously spelt – as Syuuardeby, Sywardby, Sowerbye, Sewardbie, and so on.There is little doubt the name is of Danish origin and means Syward’s farmstead. Prior to the Norman Conquest, Sewerby was largely the property of two landowners, Carle and Torchil. / Sewerby then passed to Robert, Count of Mortain in Normandy and Earl of Cornwall, half brother to William the Conqueror himself. In 1088 Count Robert was banished and his estates, including Sewerby, were confiscated. There is no record of the fate of Robert’s undertenant, Richard de Surdeval, though it is possible his family survived as the de Sywardbys, taking the name of the village.
