Because Easter is approaching I thought it appropriate :) The child’s sustenance, or umbilical cord if you like is coming from a tree, symbolic of the healing that nature can bring….the new life and growth that comes with nurture both of spirit and of nature. Humility is understanding our rightful place in the scheme of all things, including nature, family structure and the wider community…... a world where there is tolerance for all, is the one i pray for
...a late-medieval allegory on the universality of death: no matter one’s station in life, the dance of death unites all. The butterfly symbolises the fragility and beauty of life while the crow represents the ever present shadow of death. (c) Sarah Moore 2008 Background used with permission

What’s gonna last…
While out on the lake last Saturday I noticed several leaves floating in the water from the surrounding Cottonwood trees. The ones that were the most emotionally compelling for me were these simple skeletal remains. So much beauty in such frailty. A symbol of life. This image also reminds me of my latest favorite song, Shattered by O.A.R. “How many times can I break till I shatter? / Over the line can’t define what I’m after / I always turn the car around / Give me a break let me make my own pattern / All that it takes is some time but I’m shattered / I always turn the car around…” /

I’ve missed doing self-portraits. / Today, I took some in the attic… it was so, so hot there. But I’m happy with the photos that came out of the session. / The title explains a little what I was going for. I wanted fragility in this, imperfections, hidden overt emotions.
