This fox was stretched out, just enjoying the nice weather. This fox den is near my house in Colorado Springs. Their habitat was replaced by a shopping mall. They now live on the lush grounds of a corporate headquarters. If I see the foxes out out I always stop and try to get pictures. I am so impatient for Spring to come so that I can see them again.

My favorite song of all time is, “SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME.” This song came to me when I saw the one kit watching over the other one. The picture was taken in a field in Colorado Springs, CO.

This fox has been coming into the garden every day recently. It usually curls up in a particular corner and goes to sleep when my dog isn’t roaming the yard. On this occasion, I sat behind the gate (about 10 feet from the fox), hoping for a decent picture. I managed to take this just before Harpur lunged at the gate and scared the fox away. I think Harpur’s just jealous because I keep feeding the fox his biscuits! :-) Photography by Jennifer Woodward © 2008

I was totally surprised to run into this gray fox. It and the Island fox are the only two members of genus, Urocyon. They are considered the most primitive of the living canids. They are larger and much stronger than the red fox and are found in the southern half of North America. it is very rare to see a gray fox. I was hiking at a higher altitude in a very “wild” area near the mountains in Colorado Springs,Co.

Standing like a sentinel on guard, this male Coyote in Rocky Mountain National Park glances over his shoulder as he hears something behind him. I managed to captured him when he was prowling around the area for prey, such a gorgeous animal, with the late day sun hitting him perfectly.
