Number three of the Musashi Wear designs.
One of my personal favorites. Through this image, I have received a great honor. A Red Bubble artist whose photographic work I greatly respect, Lorraine Creagh , has nominated this image to be showcased in the group Pay it Forward . Here is what Lorraine had to say about this image….”The composition and simplicity is so stunning. I particularly like the quirky photographing of the backs of their ‘heads’. I’m a bit of a sucker when it comes to flowers, and Nancy photographs them so beautifully, so Nancy has my nomination” I hardly know what to say. Thank you, Lorraine. And thanks also to the Pay it Forwar group hosts!

Mixed media – archival black ink, acrylic, collage – paper painted, mono & screen-printed, drawing, photo; screen-printed cotton fabric, carpet material; on canvas. Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / Theme – ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi Background: I had working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm/movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, of knowledge, understanding and experience. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

I woke up one morning and came out into the kitchen just after I had finished this work and the rainbow was spot on the stone of destiny! It was goosepimple stuff, I tell you! The spirits walked my house that morning! These big powerful mandalas are connections… connections with spirit, connections with others, connections with myself. Here’s what I like about this flawed photo. It expresses a range of emotions. The girl in the foreground seems deeply introspective, perhaps in a melancholic way. She staring, but not without. She’s thinking, oblivious to all around her. The young man on the left is mesmerized by her. He has no chance. Both are oblivious to the May December passion taking place between them. The passionate couple is oblivious to all but each other, lost in a delicious moment, perhaps “happy” is not too strong a word. Longing, introspection, melancholy, sexuality, romance all occurring at the same moment in time, in the same space. A few meters separates the actors. It might as well be light years. I empathize with the young man. I too have longed in vain. I envy the couple kissing, for once I too kissed. I worry about the girl. So fashionably dressed, yet so oblivious to any attention she might draw. She looks without looking. She bites her scarf. She is too inward dwelling to escape my concern.

Watercolor and pencil on illustration board, / 15×20 / 2009 Related work: / The Waterman: Unio Mystica This is the second panel of The Waterman triptych. While the central panel represents the Christ as the macrocosm, the side panels are the microcosm, represented by the Four Elements and their manifestation in the physical world. Ignis Aeris is the yang pillar, the elements Fire and Air. Volatile and oriented upward, these elements are connected to the realms of the abstract thinking and intuition. Fire is the energy, passion and primeval instincts, that need to be balanced by the intellect (Air) in order to manifest in a most constructive way. The certainty of the Divine, that comes from the heart and from a primal knowledge, needs to be shaped by the intellect in order to become less aggressive and to expand (the butterflies rising from the fire and flying upward). Only through a perfect combination of faith and reason we can access the Divine and understand Its Laws. At the basis of the picture, handling the creative power of Fire, we see the Magician of the Tarot, which I represented wearing the skin of Nemean Lion, just like Greek hero Herakles. He represents the first step in the Hero’s Journey, or that path that each one of us need to find out and go through in order to become Whole with the Universe. The Magician is the one who uses his power of will (Fire) and mental skills (Air) in order to find his own path.

A yawn (from the Middle English yanen, an alteration of yonen or yenen, which in turn comes from the Old English geonian1), is a reflex of simultaneous inhalation of air and stretching of the eardrums, followed by exhalation of breath. Pandiculation is the term for the act of stretching and yawning simultaneously.[2] (Wikipedia) This is my elderly rat. (who also passed away) I found a few photo’s of him, which I took very fast when I saw he was going to yawn. Thought it was funny.
