  • Eilean Donan Castle
    by Craig Goldsmith

    US$4.99–US$114.00

Eilean Doan Castle one of the Iconic Scotish Castles was just a magic place to visit and photograph. I spent close to 6 hours taking in the surrounds, the atmosphere and the serenity and of course the odd photo or two. Here is one of my favourites, I really like the balance of light and the reflections. I hope you like it too.

Scotland, Loch Eil, Fort William, from the top gondola station Nevis Range. What better way and place to spend a late June evening than sitting with a cool beer at the top of a Scottish mountain watching the sun sink into the lochs and hills to the west. A truly peaceful and inspiring experience Canon EOS 1D mark II N / Canon 70-200 f2.8 L lens / f8 / 1/200 sec / ISO-400

  • A row of arches overlooking the hills, Amber Fort; Jaipur, Rajasthan. This fort served as the capital for the Maharajas of this region, until Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh felt that the time was right to start a new city, which he named after himself – Jaipur. His reasoning was based on the fact that he had entered into an agreement with the fierce Mughal rulers based in nearby Agra (now in Uttar Pradesh) to marry his daughter to a prince – this lead to peace, and him being the Commander of the Mughal Army. As Mughal power waned he felt it was safe to expand his kingdom and seat of power. There are a number of forts in Jaipur including the older Jaigarh Fort, next to this one, and the newer City Palace which was established once the city was built. Part of this palace is also open to the public and the current (titleless) Maharaja resides there when he is not in the UK.

  • Reflect

    US$26.22

Another play on the dynamics of light and dark. Always something that I’ve “reflected” upon :)

  • Through a beautiful sculpted Hindu archway, I gaze over the Aravalli Hills that litter the Rajasthani landscape. The hills stretch approximately 560 km from northeast to southwest Rajasthan, and then continue as isolated hills and ridges into the state of Haryana (formerly part of the state of Punjab) and near Delhi. The highest point is on Mt Abu, and is known as Guru Shikar. It rises 5653 feet (1.72 km). The hill range is further divided into the Sambhar-Sirohi and the Sambhar-Khetri ranges. The peaks of the Aravalli Hills are famous for their white peaks, formed not by snow, but by large masses of rose coloured quartz. / __ Dedicated to Marnie Kaur Sidhu, a friend who helped me through picking a new domain/flickr name (and helped me name a business in the past) :) / : at Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

  • cademuir hill
    by dinghysailor1

    US$3.99–US$28.50

View from the top of Cademuir Hill on along the John Buchan Way from Broughton to Peebles in the scottish borders. This ascent was optional in the 14 mile walk but who could resist the chance to stand looking down the valley on the site of this old Iron Age hillfort with its defensive line of jaggy stones (possibly called ‘chevaux-de-frises’) sited in such a way as to be invisible to an attacking force until they breasted the rise and were among the stones…. A closeup of these rocks can be seen in this great bubble jeopardy game here The legendary King Arthur and the wizard Merlin are associated with the area too.. Arthurs kingdom extended from Cornwall right up to Scotland and he’s reputed to have fought a battle in this area which would have been occupied at that time by local tribes after the Romans departed. More fascinating details especially regarding Merlins end can be seen here And another view from the hillfort as the weather blowings in from up the valley… / / / /

  • Shaniwarwada #3
    by Prasad

    US$7.31–US$167.20

Coming up with a tour to this famous historical icon of my city – Pune. This time going a bit close, to present Shaniwar Wada with a new perspective. This is a popular view of this fortress from Delhi darwaja ( Delhi gate ). This gate was named as it has facing towards Delhi, now the national capital of India. As photography has limited access use of tripod is nit allowed and this shot was taken hand held, manual mode, @ ISO 100, f/16 and Tv 1/13, I just wonder how it didn’t blurred :) Enjoy the taste of history and art on enlarged view :) I have reworked this photograph in PS ( 05.03.2009 ) Have a tour of Shaniwar Wada, here. Visit my Bubblesite for comprehensive viewing of my images. Equipment : Canon EOS 400D

    US$3.99–US$91.20

I find this bird to be one of those birds that is a pleasure to watch.. they are usually found alone.. and they must dry their wings , before diving again, due to no oil glands on the wings. Lakes Park. Fort Myers, Florida. Sony DSC H 7 ** / This is a clickable image
