  • 4-03 the mist was hanging everywhere, wonderful moody feel to the day

  • A few years back, I had a friend who always called this kind of bush a ‘Forsynthia’ I would laugh and tell her it’s not FOR ‘Cynthia’, it’s a forsythia bush… now every time I see one it reminds me of her. And no.. her name is Amanda. LOL… LavenderMoon~

  • The forsythias have bloomed, the brilliant yellow brightens up the somewhat somber winter stalling since spring is slow going this year. Seems to not want to warm up, I guess we should blame that on global warming?

  • The Corbieres hills above Fontfroide Abbey in the Langeudoc region of southern France. Beautiful views and hiking paths can be found in this scenic area which were covered in forsythia while we were there. Sony Cybershot DSC-T1

  • The warm spring winds were vigorously bending blossom-laden branches at Brandon Park (a city park) in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. I watched the seasonal “show” for quite a while from the perfectly positioned park bench featured in the shot. This photo was taken on April 26th, 2009, with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 28-70mm f/2.8L zoom lens, set to 34mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/90th sec. at f/22. The camera’s ISO was set to 400. The image has been slightly cropped for width, but is otherwise “untouched”. Your comments are always welcome! Constructive criticism is appreciated. © 2009 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist. • Forsythia run between our house & our neighbors side yard. Every year we discuss how short my husband will trim them – this year they were trimmed down to 6’. One thing is for sure – every year they provide bountiful beautiful yellow blooms in April. Canon XTi w. EF 50mm Macro lens / Tv 1/320; Av 6.3; ISO 200
