I ventured up to Leura Cascades in the Blue Mountains today to try my hand at some waterfall photography.. This was one of the results, I hope you like it!! I used a circular polarizer to darken the scene and allow longer shutter speeds to capture the water flow better.. / Thanks very much for looking, comments and critiquing are most welcome.. Best Viewed LARGE EXIF / Date: 23/05/2008 @ 2:16pm / Camera: Nikon D40 / Lens: Nikon 18-55mm II / Focal Length: 22mm / Aperture: f/18 / Shutter: 20 seconds / ISO: 200 Looks great as a framed print, don’t you think? :P /

Another attempt at adding a figure into a misty shot from the pine forest at Wentworth Falls – trying this time to work on the correct lighting for the lady … I am open to constructive suggestions and criticism! / Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM / / /

Saturday night was a very still warm night. Went out onto my favorite rockland armed with a bottle of red wine… a packet of chips and some light painting tools. This shot was my first serious effort at light painting… I have probably spent 2 months testing different lights to understand the quality of the light. This was the first time I have used them in anger. What was interesting about this shot is that I had totally previsualised it. I knew exactly the shot I wanted to capture and the end result is pretty close to what was in my mind for about 6 weeks. Enjoy / Brent

Check out these rocks… beautiful in every way…. green in colour… they have like an alligator skin texture and they are in a lovely angular pattern. This was taken at sunrise at Forresters beach as a storm was approaching us.

Different view of the beach immediately after sunrise. Love the way the light highlights the textures of the rock shelf.

This is the first time I have done a “study” on a particular location. I am shooting the rocks of Forresters beach at different times of the day as well as during different weather and lighting conditions. This shot was taken before dawn. Used a Singh Ray 3stop Grad ND

Ancient Forrest. After a week of very low temperatures All trees were Frozen in my country. I had to work most of the week so i didn’t had much time to capture it, but there was still some snow left. It was very foggy when i got to this place. It looked like no one had been there in like 100 years. The small white parts on the tree are pieces of frozen snow. It looked like some kind of lord of the rings scene. I decided to go to this place which is in the forrest of my hometown but i hadn’t been there before. And I was speechless. Amazing looking scenes with lots of green moss, lot’s of sunbeams trough the trees. Fascinating! Hope you like it too Nikon D70s with my sigma 10-20 on 10mm. Only sharpening in cs3.

Another shot from my study @ Forresters Beach. I’ve shot this composition quite a while ago, but wanted to re-shoot it as part of the study because I didn’t like the sky and clouds of the old shot. I love this section of the rocks… it has everything… shape, lines, textures, colours all driving to an interesting rock in the centre. This was a single exposure shot with a Singh Ray 3 stop GND. BP
