This series of Mammatus clouds where taken on December 27 2004 just as a really big summer thunderstorm had formed over my house. From what I read, the Mammatus clouds are caused by ice in the clouds becoming heavy and causing the cloud to sag. A very rare site! EOS 20D. Horseshoe Bend is the name for a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona, in the United States. It is located slightly downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell, about four miles or 6 km south of Page. part of a ttv (through the viewfinder) series Theory: / TTV (Through The Viewfinder) photography is when you use an old medium format camera and a digital camera. / These old medium format twin reflex cameras have large viewfinders. Firstly you compose your image using the medium format camera (in my case i have used a mamiya c33) then you actually take the picture using a digital camera (here i use my pentax K10) of what is in the viewfinder of the old camera.

Located on the west coast of Sardinia, Italy, I ventured upon this gem of a beach hidden away – after following a dirt track down past an old factory this beautiful vista unfolded. / Travelling with work, I must admit… that job was tough…but someone had to do it The image was taken on my fully mechanical 120 film Widelux panoramic camera on slide film (ASA100) and electronically scanned via an Epson V700. The Widelux has a rotating lens across a 150 degree arc – it sometimes is a little slow on the start of its “scan” hence over-exposure at the leading edge can occur… as seen here.

It was an old mirror, and silvered, and very tired. It was determined to cast no more reflections.

Taken at Loch Ard Gorge on the Great Ocean Road, VIC. This was shot with a Mamiya RZ67 on Ilford Pan F 50 ISO film. Only other details I remember was that it was shot with a 50mm lens, equivalent to about 24mm in 35mm format. I hand developed the film myself, scanned it and added the sepia toning with Photoshop. The Donna Nook Grey Seal Colony / Taken today 19/11/09 The British population of grey seals is of great international conservation importance and we are fortunate to have a thriving colony on the Lincolnshire coast. For much of the year the seals are at sea or hauled out on distant sandbanks, but during the winter they come to breed near the dunes on the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve at Donna Nook. They are present on the beach in November and December. The RAF Bombing Range at Donna Nook provides the seals with a relatively disturbance-free site for hauling out. The seals are not the least bit concerned by the planes. Staff at RAF Donna Nook make every effort to make sure that no harm comes to any animal because of military activity.
