On a recent expedition, Magoo2 and I discovered this old rail tunnel in the Lincolnshire Wolds – which was no mean feat,- we had the nettle stings, mud scrapes and bruises [from being whacked by various tree branches during our ‘controlled descent’ of the overgrown gulley] to prove it! The tunnel seems to be Victorian, from the steeply vaulted roof, and is ‘faced and lined’ with higher grade materials [for show] at each end but bellies out to a larger bore built of red brick further in. There’s no trickery with this one, only ambient light and a ‘star effect’ courtesy of an f8 aperture.

by girlinthestarsI’m broken now / But I have not forgotten the way it feels / To swallow rain like candy drops / And then to Stop And fervidly kiss / ...
This is based on a true story that never happened…:) I imagined being left….it inspired this…

Taken early one misty morning at Miriamvale, Queensland —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——- / Fields Of Strength / by Marie Paradise / / Whenever my journey gets hard to bear / To fields I go to meet You there. The Holy psalms I shall recount / My horse of courage I shall mount. My journey through this land gets longer / My hunger for Your home gets stronger. When hills to climb get only steeper / My love for You gets only deeper. I shall not stray nor lose my course / With rein in hand, I’ll guide my horse / To fields of good and plenty be / These fields, the ones You promised me / Are void of enemies and grief. / These fields supply me with relief. I mount my horse, I’m on my way / And in Your fields, My Lord, I’ll stay. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——-

I saw this rusted frame of a bike on the borders of this wheat field, when I saw it it reminded me of the times I spent as a kid wheeling around my own bike with a hockey card in the spokes and the flag raised high on the back and I even had a streamer or two flapping in the wind off my handlebars. To me this old rusted frame symbolizes the wonderful experiences of a fantastic childhood full of laughter, smiles and fond memories, but time is our enemy and for many of us it fades our once cherished memories to distant glimmers that flicker by on rare occasions, and like this old rusted frame are soon forgotten and will eventually fade completely. / / This replaces a previous version of the image Lost & Found. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

This old farmhouse sits on a dirt road near Elevenmile Reservoir in Colorado. I really liked its country charm and i am drawn to these old abandoned places. It had a for sale sign out front…... oh if only i had a few dollars…............. Cloned out the powerlines, bumped up the saturation, and added an HDR effect using Corel’s Paint Shop Pro XI.

I found this barn while hubby and I were driving around in northern PA. Did some edits from my previous version, and made the resolution higher, for those who might be interested in buying a print.

Stumbled across a Large white cross on the other side of the river from where I was shooting. Was early morning and was taking pictures of the frost in the trees. When this beautifull image caught my eye. Even in the early morning haze and cloud , the only place the sun is shinning is directly on the cross, you can see the light in the snow just to the right. I thought it was one of the most beautifull serene things I had ever seen. The cross is about 11 feet tall.

This is a response to the completely bizarre tale of Buoy meets Swan that arose in the comments on this picture Here Barbara is still in the closet. / Buoy – died in 1966 / Swan started a hippy commune in Neesden and still lives there to this day. / The Buoy band lasted for three years until hard Bobbing took it’s toll (about £5.45) on all of them. / Bobby Williams continues to perform best forgotten jazz numbers in the Hope and Anchor, Bridlington. / Mat and Mike got it together following a Civil Ceremony in Rhyl and lived happily ever after in Splot, Cardiff. This picture is dedicated to a friend who is feeling down – thinking of you 002
