This is a great walk to go and do! It’s not to hard and you see beautiful things the whole way! How to get there… Commencing from the Leura Cascades Picnic Area make your way to the information board from which you will observe a concrete pathway descending to the left. Follow the pathway as it travels beside the bubbling Leura Cascades creek. You will approach a small footbridge, at this there will be an intersection, you will note a weathered signpost indicating the direction of Leura Cascades, from this point head downhill to the Cascades. As you descend the fern covered stairs (handrails for support) to the Cascades you will hear the sounds of rushing water as the creek picks up speed. At the bottom, the Cascades are best viewed from beneath a rock cave looking back up the Cascades. A brief sidetrack can be made from the Cascades by following the path for a short distance to a lookout directly above the Bridal Veil Falls. Return to the picnic area via the same pathway.

  • I ventured up to Leura Cascades in the Blue Mountains today to try my hand at some waterfall photography.. This was one of the results, I hope you like it!! I used a circular polarizer to darken the scene and allow longer shutter speeds to capture the water flow better.. / Thanks very much for looking, comments and critiquing are most welcome.. • A spot I found a couple of years ago and decided that now would be a great time to visit given the peak fall colors. What I didn’t count on was all the blowdown from last winter which made this short journey a 2 hour scramble over and under rock and log. I think the hike was worth it! Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream as it flows over boulder and rock.

  • I took a shot from this spot 2 years ago after I had being doing photography for about a year, and the shot that i got(which is on my PF) i was never happy with because i couldn’t get everything in the shot that i wanted with the lens I had back then, so the first time I’ve been back since then I had my trusty 10-20mm with me to get the shot i wanted, i was lucky enough to have a load of rain the days leading up to this and the sun was going down and just caught it as it was fading over the falls allowing some nice light in. I wasn’t sure if i liked the portrait style shot more but went with this, might show the other one a bit later.

  • stand there in the shadow of a whispers dream / hoping to feel a brush of your wishes floating down / there’s something in this air that chills the way you feel / now I’m running into you but the colours aren’t feeling true / so I’m stuck inside old dreams we can’t breathe a word / that would make this fall apart / there’s nothing in your mind / that trickles into your heat / and the silence still remains / like when the rain has struck the ground / the miracle you tried to find / was hoping to stay lost I swept the world for signs to prove they were not there / they followed you till dawn then fell straight off the earth / so keep me safe today, windows and worlds locked away / I’m trying not to hide as the years moved into the night / where your stuck inside old dreams we can’t breathe a word / that would make you fall apart / there’s nothing in your mind / that trickles into your heat / and the silence still remains / like when the rain has struck the ground / the miracle you tried to find / was hoping to stay lost you were not there you were not there you were not there -me
