Taken up at Mt Donna Buang just before the top of the mountain, it’s a cold weather rain forest in Victoria Australia and just out of the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Away from the bustling big cities, Japan surprisingly still has many locations where breath-taking landscapes can capture the imagination. Colourful trees dominate the landscape at certain times of the year and a walk in the forest can bring you to a time far removed from the modern Japan.
A burnt forest in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. A fire is important in the ecological health of a forest. Forest fires aid in recycling nutrients in a forest ecosystem, clearing dead or diseased trees or stumps, and eliminating debris that covers the forest floor. As well, some species of trees require fire in order to germinate. This forest was burnt on purpose for the reasons above. This is a peak of what it looked like to be inside.

This is an old road through a disused mill town called Grimwade, nothing there now except for the beautiful forest scenery. Grimwade used to be a mill town near Kirup Southwest WA until I think, the sixties. Photo taken with Nikon D50 and photo enhanced in Dynamic photo HDR
It took us a day to walk in and out with the out part finishing a couple of hours after dark. This was not by design, but we could not walk any faster. It was a glorious trip, nit to be missed by any who can do it. One of our grandchildren has now done it in two days staying overnight at Sealers Cove and he thought it easy. Taken with Pentax camera and Pentax 28 mm shift lens on Kodachrome film.

picture taken 12-15-09 with my canon SD78015 in the wooded part of Water Works Park. I took this picture because of this path who knows where it leads to. I wanted it in the paths and walkways challenge, but I’m a day late and a dollar short. It was bitter cold that day. ! Even though it was bitter cold that early morning there was a beautiful bright sun that reflected off all the trees giving it an autumn effect.
