  • The brother and sister recognized River from last fall and they both came to say “hello”. The “brand-new” fawn followed suit as her brother and sister seemed to know us and thought of us as “friends”. :) Before they circled my overjoyed dog and they all ran off together, they first make sure that they got their spring morning “family photo” taken. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park

  • Initially, early settlers utilized iron deposits found in bogs along North Carolina’s coast. As exploration expanded, large deposits of iron ore were discovered in the mountains several hundred miles to the west. In fact, by the early 1800s, the range we now refer to as the Great Smoky Mountains was known throughout the growing United States as the Great Iron Mountains. The combination of abundant iron ore and vast tracts of timber in close proximity to one another gave our region a natural ability to produce a large variety of iron products

  • Summer Wildflower Fields amongst the Aspen in Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National Park here in Colorado…. How I love this time of the year up there…..I think this one will make a VERY nice print!

  • Enchanting birch forest in late July in North Finland where I grew up.

  • Yosemite Valley, California, taken in Northern California. / Canon Powershot SD200 Not just a great Valley… / but a shrine to human foresight, strength of granite, power of glaciers, the persistence of life, and the tranquility of the High Sierra. / Yosemite National Park, one of the first wilderness parks in the United States, is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more. / / / /

  • Country road through the forest in the winter.

  • Salto Limon falls in rainforest of Dominican Republic

  • WILD AND FREE / / To spend an hour with Mountain Gorillas is one of the best wildlife experiences you can ever hope for. They captivate you with their eyes and you become lost in the moment. Your time with them goes so fast you are left just wanting more… / / / Unfortunately, Mountain Gorilla numbers are small, with only approximately 700 left in the wild. The primary threat comes from forest clearance and degradation, as the region’s growing human population struggles to eke out a living. I am hopeful ways can be found to control these problems before it is too late. / / (Virunga volcanoes – Rwanda) / /

  • 7215 I tell ya, I wish I could honestly buy this place if it ever comes up for sale! Captured outside of Estes Park, Colorado, during my Autumn photoshoot, Longs Peak made for an incredible backdrop to the colorful Aspen and this old wooden cabin. Shot in very early morning light, the whole scene just seemed to glow…I had to stop and get quite a few shots off, as it just really caught my attention and seemed to echo the meaning of the words ‘relaxation’ quite well. / Hope ya all like it! / —-John Minolta 5D / Minolta 18-200 DT Lens / SIngh-Ray CPL / f8-iso 100- 24mm

  • The tall pale-barked karri trees growing in Boranup Karri Forest near Margaret River in Western Australia about 278 km south from Perth. Karri trees can reach 60 metres or more in height. Captured with Nikon D300

  • The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area in northeastern Pennsylvania boasts many beautiful streams and waterfalls. • Looking north up the length of Jordan Pond…the twin peaks (yes, they look like…) in the center are ‘The Bubbles’...the mountain to the left in frame is Penobscot Mountain…the mountain to the right in frame is Pemetic Mountain…a cold, and very windy day, this pond is very protected; it is usually very calm…one of the most popular places, on one of the busiest weekends of the year for tourists, but I could still get shots without people…nice place! / This area is easily accessible, with carriage roads, a great walking path around the lake, a natural amphitheater, and an excellent (and usually crowded) restaurant… Jordan Pond, Acadia National Park, Mt.
