Dragged out to the back brown grass, this chair reluctantly agreed to be a model for some unusual black-&-white photographs. / ... / Whilst highlighting its cracked seat and woodgrain legs, it displayed a long shadow in the afternoon sun. / ... / It’s way of telling me I’d taken enough shots already! ...on a particularly dark and foreboding day.
A picture taken at the metro station Forum in Copenhagen, Denmark. Post processing: / Adjusted the exposure and white balance a bit in camera raw. / Adjusted the levels and made the picture even lighter, added b&w layers set to multiply and soft light, both on 50% opacity. Added two b&w layers with a bluish tint set to overlay and multiply (100% and 20% opacity). Added an unsharp filter and straightened a bit.
As the foreboding darkness looms, the tree branches form an eerie silhouette against the night sky! /

The sun breaks through as a storm clears at Loch Awe, Scotland
The trees in my garden provided this wonderful infrared backdrop to the rather foreboding storm that’s been hanging around the last few days… ;-)
The stairs up to the staff quarters of this seminary are really quite dark and foreboding, perhaps by design?
Tell me what you think of this piece of roadway that leads down passed the Adelaide Festival Centre. I had this as a wallpaper on my desktop at work. A colleague asked if it were one of mine. Upon saying that it was, where it was taken, etc … they mentioned they liked it. To which I asked (as I do), “It’s not yet on my redbubble gallery. If it were, would you like it as a card or frame?” / They smiled, and said they’d love to see what I’d do with the image. That was about three weeks ago. I’ve been pondering which direction to go. Mostly, this is not much different from the original photograph. A slight bit of straightening (horizontally), slight deepening of dark colours and brightening of the lighter colours.
