The mischievous pixie NiaTa knelt beside the forbidden pool; she had abandoned her duty to trick intruders away from the woods, (or, if she was so inclined, to their deaths) and her incorrigible curiosity had led her to the glittering water. / Her wings fluttered with excitement as she reached out to touch her reflection. The other spirits of the woods whispered among themselves at the disturbance. / Ripples formed and NiaTa withdrew her hand, horrified at what she’d done… I’ve been creating some characters recently for painting inspiration, and I thought I’d draw this pixie character! I wanted to achieve a very speedy and painterly effect (which contrary to how it sounds, is pretty tricky and time consuming if you go into all the details) and though some of the trees seem off to me, I’m pretty happy with it. / Enjoy! =) Tools: Photoshop and Wacom / Time Consumed: Lost track. A Forbidden Love… / Lancelot had one failing, his adultorous love of Queen Guinevere. They tried to keep this love secret, it became known, and eventually brought about the undoing of the Round Table. Here I am imagining Guinevere furtively heading off into the woods to meet Lancelot…checking over her shoulder to make sure she isn’t followed. I didn’t want to have a trite image of the two of them clinging to each other – I am hoping that this image lends some mystery to the story! The mystical slopes of Forbidden Plateau on Vancouver Island BC, Canada, harbour a secret. Anciently it is said that an entire tribe of people who were pursued by their enemies, disappeared forever into the sacred mists high up on the plateau. A powerful legend that still thrives today. Part proceeds from this photograph help benefit the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rescue Shelter. Thank you for helping the animals.

But it was so beautiful and the glow that emerged from it was captivating.
