Click on the images below for a more detailed close-up / / “Finches On Parade” is about the communal abstract chatter that one encounters when in amongst a crowd of like-minded personalities. / I have chosen not to emphasize the precise detail of each bird but rather their general shape as they caper around, to give the impression of constant movement. This is probably the last of my kitty pix as I just got bored taking pictures of them once their voices dropped. And that’s probably why they treat me with total indifference these days. In fact, just the other day Scratch finished his water (we don’t give him milk because he never deserves it), looked up at me and said: “SillyBoy… or whatever they call you on that bubble thing… you could have been great if you’d just kept on shooting us…” So I told him I’d shoot him if he didn’t shut up. This is Scratch, from the same shoot as CAT in BW. He’s a pedigree Blue Point and he knows it and has since grown to be a total pain in the butt. Our other Siamese is Pepsi who is a dime a dozen Apple Head and doesn’t know it and is totally OK. But he’s not as photogenic. Such is life. Grin & bear it!

This is the first in a series I foresee doing, to increase awareness to the plight of endangered and threatened animals from around the globe. This First Edition focuses on three of the largest and most endangered carnivores today, the Sumatran tiger, the Amur leopard, and the Snow leopard. These are by no means the only imperiled wild cats, as the majority of wild cat species smaller in average body size than 30 kg are at a critical stage. / / / Because without these animals I would never be able to bring their beauty to you, I am going to pledge to donate 100% of all of my sales proceeds from cards and prints of the imagery in this series here on Redbubble to Wildlife Conservation Society Thank you for your support in the race to stave off the extinction of these magnificent creatures.

I was extremely bored today and I wanted to do something creative so I found the bubbles and started blowing out in the backyard. It was a little windy today so it was a stupid idea but I couldn’t stop trying, I just wanted ONE ! bubble with some sort of reflection before it popped. It was a mess, dripping bubbles everywhere and dropping my camera around my wrist a hundred times and then POP…..too late ! but finally I got one I really liked ….it reminds me of a garden globe.

Ah Zebras, my favourites, i could never get sick of them and was always most excited when spotting them in Africa, they beat any other wild animals for me.

my sister at her wedding (23.6.07)… / To achieve the soft focus on this photo I add a guassian blur to one of the channels (can’t remember which one), changed to sepia and then added a ‘soft light’ blending layer also a little dodging and burning… v. simple!

...if only they grew on trees… Winner in Challenge 20 at the Challenge Cafe :) I was so flattered this week to have Stacey Yount send me a Bubblemail telling me that this artwork had inspired her to write a poem for a husband. She even bought my artwork as a card and is going to write the poem inside and give it to her husband!!! LOVE IT! I think it matches the image perfectly and she has kindly given me permission to display it here. It is so exciting to collaborate with someone so talented (and she is a lovely person too). Read her beautiful words here: I once happened upon a heart tree / And had to pick the perfect / bloom for me I knew as soon as I saw that heart, / oh yes it is he / It called out I am yours, if you will choose it to be So, I danced my way to it / and reached up to pluck / it from the tree / No doubt, no worry / I knew that heart was meant for me I was right because that heart / was yours, you see / And now I am blessed with your love and oh how I love thee Stacey :) Stock Photo Credit: / Girl / Tree & Landscape

I was initially going to use a roadmap from a part of Israel…but then I figured it would better to use Texas! Just not sure why? hmm…hehe Road map for peace The “road map” for peace is a plan to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict proposed by a “quartet” of international entities: the United States, the European Union, Russia, and the United Nations. The principles of the plan were first outlined by U.S. President George W. Bush in a speech on June 24, 2002, in which he called for an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace: “The Roadmap represents a starting point toward achieving the vision of two states, a secure State of Israel and a viable, peaceful, democratic Palestine. It is the framework for progress towards lasting peace and security in the Middle East…” Definition from Wikipedia I never was any good at folding maps back up… / Now there is only 999 more cranes to make…till world peace!
