Someone once wrote- One night a man had a dream. / He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from his life. / For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, / one beloning to him and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, / he looked back at the footprints in the sand. / He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. / He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. / This bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, / you’d walk with me all the way. / But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. / I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.” The Lord replied “My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. / During your times of trial and suffereing, / when you see only one set of footprints in the sand, / it was then that I carried you.”

Ani l’dodi vdodi li – I am my Beloved’s and Beloved is mine. This image is deeply symbolic to me as it represents my relationship with Yeshua. He is my Beloved, i love Him passionately and i am His. He loves me like no man ever could, deep in my inner being where soul and spirit meet. This golden ring is the symbol of the never ending love He has for me with the words from Song of Songs written through the center. These words are taken from the love letter He wrote to me and were forged in the winepress of death. He holds my soul in His hand and protects it from the harshness of this world. I wish you too could feel His Passion and oh if you could just smell His garments you’re heart would melt. His eyes are like pools of water and my heart leaps to hear His footsteps. His shoulders are broad and His heartbeat steady as i lay my head on His Breast and smell the clothing steeped in His scent. His words are whispers, heavy with love and i desire Him. The soft gentle light forces the darkness away and ushers in the silence filled with anticipation. His lips brush against mine, His mouth tastes sweet and i am consumed with passion for Him.

Walking down to the beach. It was a cool bleak day. These footprints caught my eye. The volcanic sand had flecks of purple in it which sparkled!. Quite a memorable experience

The imprint of man slowly being washed away by mother nature…sooner or later she will rise up and sweep all our destructive nature away from this planet….....

Footprints in the sand at Point Roadknight just out of Anglesea at Sunset. Also part of the Great Otway National Park that runs down much of the coast from Torquay right across to Port Campbell. HDR in Photomatix and white balance change in Lightroom. Toned down a lot of the colours except for the yellows, the sky has been noticably toned down to keep the goldish look.

I wanted to get a view of the surrounding country side, so I climbed up to the top of the headland at Red Rock. What a great 360 degree view. There were two German couples watching the whales in the distance, a beautiful sunset was developing behind me and the mighty ocean was pounding the red rocks below me. But this lady sitting alone in the middle of the beach captured my attention. We can only speculate where she was…. Photo Taken: 16-Oct-2007 / Time: 5pm / Conditions: Beautiful sunny day.

Psalm 37:23-24 “The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives. though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” A foggy morning along the shores of Rimrock Lake, I had been wandering in the fog when the light bega to burn through. I was eushing to shoot a fallen log when I felt compelled to look behind me and noticed my footprints filling with water along the shore and reflecting the light. Once in a while, I feel like there is message for me in images and this one for sure. A reminder of in whose steps I should be following! All proceeds from the sale of this image will be donated to CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship)

this secluded beach was empty when we arrived. only one set of foot steps (mine) disturbed the sand for most of the day. having a whole tropical beach in the middle of Rio, Brazil is an experience we all should have.

Under the pastel hues of a summer twilight the beach and river sand resonates in soft pink hues. Left in the banks of the mouth of the pristine Powlett river are the footprints (see bottom right of image ) of a Sooty Oystercatcher which flew off just prior to me composing this photograph. / It is one of many inhabitants that has left it’s mark on this inspiring coast over time….Behind me, over my right shoulder amidst the dunes is an aboriginal shell midden from thousands of years ago when the Bunurong people lived off this land. / Several hundred meters further down the beach amongst the rock platforms are plant fossils and coal seams embedded in the sandstone that formed filling this once great rift valley. There is also a rare dinosaur fossil from millions of years ago laying there. / Now, in what is becoming a decisive point in modern man’s occupation of this land I see a new potential footprint here…one of a huge pollution factory, in the form of the largest desalination plant in the southern hemisphere! Only hundreds of meters away, spewing out hundreds of millions of litres of toxic poison into these pristine ecosystems every year…pumping vast quantities of CO2 into the atmosphere via it’s insatiable thirst for electricity. Nothing like a bit of classic simplicity and some colour too! / This was taken at the small welsh coastal town of Barry Island during a week of wondrous and random travelling. A nice clean and crisp beach would have been nice as the tide had just gone out but it seems others got there first! / Another great English (or I should say Welsh) day to be at the beach as you can see!

I’m not a beach person, never have been, but after reading Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s Gift from the Sea which was written on Sanibel/Captiva Island, Florida, I had a strong urge to go there. My husband and I took a belated 37th wedding anniversary trip to the islands which we thoroughly enjoyed. The sunrises and sunsets were a joyous sight for us, and this photo which I’ve titled “Last Light” is among my favorites as it symbolizes the way people cling to the last rays of light on the beach, squeezing in every available moment at the seashore. The area in the distance was a gathering place for fishermen who continued to cast till they could see no more.

there’s no one in my friend declares / but then all of a sudden footsteps heard on the stairs If there one thing we can learn from a photographic capture, is that you never can be certain of what appears on the image; I thought this sort of occurence only happened on negative film, but now I realise strange phenomena can happen on digital as well. This was not there at the time, nor can I assure did I use Photoshop etc. Someone else on this site was there behind me when I captured this and neither of us can explain; can you!?
